I'm a bit of a fan of this fella, he needs to control his aggression at times but he's a really good player.

Seeing as you lot watch him all the time, how good is he?

He's having a great season. a real grafter.
He's improved massively since leaving Sunderland. The lure of his bigger home town club has helped him raise his game a lot (as evidenced by his England call up).
For me.. he just needs to keep on doing what's he has been and his upward trajectory will continue.
He will be ur captain within a couple of years.. mark my words...

He has had a very good first season. He looks to be an improving player. The key is how he is used. When he and Abeid have started together this season, our midfield has looked formidable. Both rarely surrender possession, have great passing accuracy and range, and they both get stuck in. Sissoko has never looked better than when he had those two behind. They dominated Man City's midfield in the cup.

Colback has shown himself to a sweet striker of a football too and has added goals. I never really noticed him for Sunderland, he just looked a tidy solid player. He seems to have taken another step forward. I'd say he is good enough to be in the England reckoning for sure.

when we signed him I thought we had got a good squad player but was concerned he was a replacement for Cabaye. Although he is better than I expected he is a midtable player and I don't see him playing champions league or international football unless we really are short in the area. Good player for most premiership clubs but not top 6 standard.

Still better than I was expecting!!

He gave everything you've said in the second half of last season, not only that, he was getting goals, Assists, making key passes, testing the goalkeeper and developing attacking play a 100 times better than he has been for you this season. You're limiting the lad lad by giving him a holding role, he can give you more than he is now, but the position you play him limits what he can bring to the games. He has an attacking threat which was developed last season which Pardew has chosen not to utilise. Nowt to do with being bitter and twisted, it's a personal assessment of a player I've seen over 100 times, a player I've seen develop in multiple roles and positions, a player i've seen overcome flaws in his game.

He had one assist when I wrote this. Since he's scored 3 and had 4 assists. And you wrote this.

Not only are you unable to understand the game of football, you also, despite using it regularly and being very good at it, don't understand the word 'beeling'. You're the only person who thinks he is not better than he was, the pundits comment on it every week. Now settle down, stop getting your knickers in a twist and accept we've done you in a massive way with Colback. At least the majority of your lads let their frustrations be known on the day he left. You have just supressed yours and they seep out through bitter little uneducated posts.

I never said he he wasn't better at Sunderland, I said he was performing better back end of the season for us, I also said Pardew wasn't getting the best out him at the time. It's clearly written there and I was bang on the money. You shouldn't let our club rivalry keep you from having sensible conversation with Mackems. I've always been a Colback fan and always been happy for him moving to his own club. Take your head out of your arse in future marra. We might actually get on. Glad he's showing everything I said he had, even though you interpreted that as me not rating him. <doh>;) Now get this bitter thing out your head daft lad, I know you're desperate for me to hate him and discredit him. I know my onions on Jack, when the majority of the Sunderland board said he was ineffective I fought Jacks corner fiercely. No offence intended fella, you just needed reminding of this <ok>:)

Now I'll just take my lack of understanding in the game and leave you in peace. <whistle>

As we say Luvgonzo, they've never really got over it <laugh> He is just so much better now :emoticon-0165-muscl

Nah you were just babbling a load of ****e so left you to it. Jack has just improved from his time on the dark side (at any point), as correctly noted by myself and others.

What ever fella. Proof is clearly in the pudding. I don't need to add anything else. <party>

It certainly is, he has as many goals as last season in 8 fewer games, more assists, is putting in better performances and playing in a side higher up the table. Not much else to say really...well except thanks for Sunderland AFC for preparing him, we'll take it from here. :emoticon-0142-happy
