I have never seen him play anywhere except on the wing. He played there at Blackburn whenever I saw him. I heard he played well pre-season in a central role. But I think his inability to finish a run with a pass to colleague, and his not too lethal shooting, would make him even more out of position in the middle, than he is as a winger. For me he's got to relearn the basics of passing to play anywhere for us again.
Well I guess we'll agree to disagree then, I always seem to remember him coming from deep centre into the box. And his shooting was pretty good with that, albeit one, stellar season with Blackburn.
A natural winger will almost always try and hit the bye line(admittedly he of course actually did that in the final) Hoillett just looks lost to me with his ineffectual cutting in. There's a talented player there with no direction, let's hope that changes now, eh?

Maybe CR can get him playing effectively. He doesn't seem to have featured since CR took over. If he's not injured again, perhaps he is working on just that now. With Hoilett's speed if could learn to lay the ball off and cross effectively, he could be a real threat.

Totally agree there mate, now that Redknapp has gone hopefully this'll actually be coached to him.
