They have years of experience, of which Monk doesn't. They are proven managers in their own right. Quite frankly they ought to be embarrassed if they couldn't tactically out think Monk.

Would that be the Gomis that Monk signed or did he not want him, So whose fault is the Gomis debacle then. Are you also saying that GM is being forced to play the clown. Wouldn't that suggest that maybe the board have a little influence on team selection. Surely not.

We had a striker , in fact one of the best I've ever seen play for the Club but a short termism view meant we sold him , now we're paying the price and in more ways than one . Burnley didn't sell Danny Ings this January because the boards view was he was more of a long term asset than a quick return on their investment .Points make prices and whether we like it or not the more points mean a higher finishing position in the league with more money ,a more attractive proposition if you're trying to attract new players which at the moment most will be happy to see us scrape over the line and that to me is not progress..

Surely then Valley by the nature of your statement we shouldn't be emplying a man who can be out thought tactically by every manager in the PL as the all have a lot more experience than him. This is why we need a very experienced number 2 to guide him.

Hope so, unless we're waiting for RM to have the sack and bring him back with Monk as his number two.

This is why we needed a DoF at the start of the season.

So don't you think the Board should have taken this into consideration when appointing him and more so without a clause that he has an experienced No2 along side him .They dropped a clanger imo by giving him a long contract ,which if it goes t*ts up will always favour the sacked manager but leaves the Club with a double problem of finding a replacement and forking out a big payoff .

Can't make excuses. There was plenty of time to sell him and bring in a decent striker if needed.

we could have sold him >..To who???? there were no firm offers on the table only paper talk because that is one question i have already asked. He has a contract and his record is good so why should we sell him anyway. We really need to get him scoring or he will be with us until his contract runs out as nobody will pay £8m for a barren striker...We have no choice but to play him and hope he comes good...

Best we get used to him being here for the length of his contract because he couldn't score in a brothel. By the way his goal scoring record was never good but average at a team who for many years were at the top of the league.

Loved his sound bits on the feed I was watching, constantly telling them to close us down etc. Best one giving Berahino a bollocking for a lazy pass etc. Not my cup of tea with his tactics, but hell of a man manager. Monk could learn a huge amount from studying him.

This for me was so apparent when watching the technical area , Pullis didn't stop , yes I know we've had discussions about managers slumped in their seats or pacing up and down the line but in my opinion it makes a difference because the ground isn't always a caldron of noise and you can get your message /instructions on .Players do look for guidance especially when they know the game maybe slipping away

Pulis was like a predatory Panther on the toucline last night, kicking every ball, making every tackle whereas Monk just sat/stood there looking lost and devoid of ideas.
