This is becoming murky and distasteful. The BBC news says the flat was the Chairman's. So it sounds like the Chairman offers the use of his flat to a first team player so that he can facilitate sordid sex sessions involving an unwilling victim while the player indulges in voyeuristic perversions. What did the Chairman think they were going to use the flat for? Training? If Dack wants to indulge in consensual sex that is his business. If he wants to oversee a what has been described in Court when he is supposed to be a role model then it is a concern for the whole community. There are plenty of supporters with wives, girlfriends and daughters who will not laugh this off as boys will be boys. It sounds more sordid than anything attributed to Ched Evans. Worse than the MacCammon fiasco, as bad as any of the things Marlon King did. Scally has some explaining to do and Dack has some apologising to do as well as bracing himself for ridicule from away fans. It will be interesting to read how the popular press cover all this . If the feminist lobby climb on board Dack's career will be at risk.
Horrifying news. I hope that all parties are treated in a just, appropriate and civil manner in order to get to the bottom of this. This does sound vaguely familiar though, wasn't there a criminal case from a couple of years ago like this? Awful nightclub, two footballers? Football very much takes a secondary role here, rightly so. As for the details that the flat belongs to the chairman, I thought that a number of players that don't have family (wife and kids) and wanted to live locally but not have to purchase there are sometimes rented a flat owned by the club. Hence why Curtis Weston, Mark McCammon and I think Dennis Oli lived in the same house (mentioned when McCammon had to come in when it snowed?).
Bristol - you really are a sanctimonious pain in the bottom aren't you. What do you think is happening in Mediterranean resorts every night of the week with Young British men and women ? I don't say it's right but don't make out that this sort of thing isn't happening all the time. The sad thing is that the only time this kind of incident gets reported is when a footballer is involved. Ask yourself why that might be and what the motivation could possibly be.
The reason it is big news when footballers are involved is because of their responsibilities as role models and the focus they receive from easily influenced minors. It is nothing to do with being sanctimonious. Politicians get the same treatment. Their responsibilities are spelt out in their contracts and by public opinion, they just have to behave better than Mediterranean holidaymakers and it is one of the reasons they are rewarded generously from a financial standpoint. If there was one lesson from the Ched Evans affair it was the absolute outrage of the majority of supporters when a minority of supporters tried to suggest that this behaviour was acceptable and "happens all the time".
Be very careful about the libel laws, Dack hasn't been charged with anything, and the court case still hasn't reached a verdict on Nyafli. This is the very reason that everyone involved in court proceedings should enjoy the privilege of anonymity until the decisions are final, trial by forum might not be legally binding but it could influence a jury.
Ok I've only just seen this thread, as grumpygit has already stated be careful what you say. It goes without saying I'm sure the club/players would follow up any libel and we really do not need the grief if any comments become reckless. I'm tempted to close this but will look closer at the above comments first.
