I use a electric shaver if I'm being lazy, otherwise its a Gillete Fusion. Thought about the cut throat myself but I don't fancy doing my head with it
Someone said somewhere it worked for Mitchell Johnson in the ashes as well... Figure of fun, grow a silly tash and all of a sudden hits the form of his life. Let's hope super mario can do the same!
Used the soap bowl and brush for the first time this morning. Prepped the face with a hot flannel, put on some gel, then lathered up with the brush and soap. Brush is synthetic fibres so a little bit stiff. But I wouldn't buy a real badger hair one. Got a nice lather on the go, not too thick. First pass with the grain. Second against/across. Fresh blade on the Mach 3. Balm on afterwards. Was a very smooth shave and my face is like a new-born's. Very little irritation and redness.
Letting mine go a bit feral for February, bloody cold working outdoors and it provides a little insulation
I had a beard for a while, took it off yesterday in readiness for today's clean shave. Does feel colder now, just turned the heaters up in the van
I don't wet shave every day. Face couldn't take it. I wouldn't class the bog standard Wilkison Sword things I got as 'nice', there's much better (but much feckin more expensive) soaps, cremes and brushes you can get but they're a nice change from a can of foam etc. Problem with brushes is the better ones are real badger hair which I'm not down with The German single blade razor I got was quite expensive I think - not very as razors go but def much more than your supermarket types - but I got it bought for me
Right. For those interested... I've dug out my DE safety razor from the cupboard and it's called the Merkur Futur 760. You can see it here - http://www.shaving-shack.com/merkur...-finish-gift-tin-and-10-merkur-de-blades.html It's fully adjustable so you have settings from 1-6 written on the top of the handle under the head where the razor is held and you twist the handle to change the setting. This moves the guard closer to or further away from the blade. 1 is closest to the blade, 6 is furthest away. The further away it gets the closer the shave will be. Still got the blade that came with it in which should still be sharp as I only ever used it twice. Will be giving it a go when I get some stubble back. Probably Fri/Sat. Will do a review.
Got some King of Shave Alpha Gel and some of their Kinexium shave oil on a bogof. Very good stuff, razor glides like an ice skate on a frozen lake
