Well deserved equaliser, I thought Stoke were the better side up until the opener. Great header but I'm not sure what Krul was doing, go for it or get your arse back on the line, great ball too mind. I don't know who told Hodgson Colback was the ginger Pirlo, there was more likeness between Doherty and the real Pele Decent finish today but I can't see him getting near the England squad again.
I can't understand how United are in the top 4 because whenever I watch them play, they look so dull and uninspiring. You don't spend £150m + to play crap football!
I don't really get what van Gaal's system is or what he's trying to achieve with his team selections. He often reminds me of Ossie Ardiles, chucking on the best players that he has available, regardless of whether they fit into a working team or not. Was he like this at other clubs? I can't remember seeing it in the past.
That is why I believe United will finish top 4. Such a jammy side. Do they deserve it? Do they fack. But they're somehow getting results.
What did I tell you, 0-0 or 1-1. It often goes like that on a Sunday when the first match result is repeated in this case a draw. Best result for us really.
Spoken like a true Wengerite (Or is it Wenger Boy?) There really is nothing for artistic merit. No judges hold up cards at the end of the match rating the teams. You'd think after ten barren years of claiming to play the best football but not coming close to winning the PL, the penny might have dropped. Keep going to the end though and you just might get something - however sh**e you've played.
Pretty awful performance though, Lidls. Nicking points late in games is an admirable trait, as we've demonstrated often this season, but that wasn't great, was it? Better than losing though, obviously. What's van Gaal doing wrong and what's his view of the team, in your opinion? I don't understand his team selection or tactics.
It seems that Nigel Pearson's nutbag behaviour yesterday may have been the final straw. Unconfirmed reports everywhere that he's been sacked by Leicester.
Where to start? The defensive weaknesses are obvious. As for the front five/six/seven, there are a lot of big names on the team sheet, but none are young anymore. There is a lack of pace and urgency. There is a lethargy in the play of the supposedly star players, as if someone else should be bursting a gut to run into space . As a result, teams are never stretched. They can sit behind the ball and let Utd pass it around in deep positions. Falcao and RvP want to play the same role, which in turn means Rooney has to play deeper in a role which would be better suited to di Maria. Mata and Fellaini don't fit in - except the latter is useful if you want to play the hopeful, but aimless long ball. Van Gaal would have been better bringing in some pace and youth.
Thought Kouyate looked good at the start of the season but tailed of a bit. Great technique for the goal but as you say, poor defending. Totally disagree, I pay to be entertained and for the atmosphere. Entertainment is subjective but I certainly wouldn't be enjoying it if I was paying to go see United at the moment. I'm not going up to collect a winners medal at the end of the season and I'm definitely not getting a bonus if my team win a trophy so it's the spectacle first for me. I'd rather my team win a trophy every 3/4 years playing the kind of football I like rather than winning a trophy a season playing the kind of stuff that I could see for free down the park on a Sunday. I feel lucky to have got to cheer on great players in my time as a fan, even though we've not seen much in the way of trophies. Going into a game knowing that you're likely to see something brilliant from Berbatov/Bale/Modric/VDV/Klinsmann/Ginola/Eriksen/Kane is one of the things I love about it. Getting away with it and nicking a point or 2 just doesn't feel as special to me.
Haha, nah, Chelsea did that. My Brentford and Bournemouth weekly double continues to pay out though, especially when they both play away and win like yesterday. Had 1-1 in the prediction competition, I think.
I see my post went over your head. Can't say I'm overly surprised. If you're going to make statements about someone, make sure they're true. First of all, I am a very fierce critic of Wenger and have not had faith in him for nearly 4 years. So you're wrong. My post had nothing to do with the team I am affiliated with. As YV rightly states, if you're going to spend that much money on improving your side (I use the term improving loosely), there becomes a higher level of expectation. It is disgraceful that your side has the attacking quality of Mata, di Maria, van Persie and Rooney yet you play with very little fluency and flair. Your target for the season is to qualify for the Champions League and if you get there, then fair enough. But your style of play has to improve at some point if you want to avoid your fans getting disillusioned, considering how much they are paying. You have the highest wage bill in the entire division and have spent massively on overhauling your squad. There is no two ways about it - you are not achieving as much as you should be.
