I disagree, we were fine in the centre but we were let down by our wide players. How the **** is Traore getting paid to play football?
Agree on Traore. He was shameful. How he didn't get hooked before Taarabt I'll never know!!

I thought that Taarabt substitute very strange. I can only presume he ran out of puff because otherwise he'd have been the last one I'd have taken off today.
(Bearing in mind I only had a stream which is incomparable to being there)
Why was Traore picked? Were Shaun Phillips and Hoilett injured? I don't think they were on the bench.
Even if they were he could have tried Matt Phillips wide left and Vargas or Isla on the right. Surely anything is better than Traore?
Perhaps Ramsay just said "every player in correct position no matter what". There is some logic to that I guess.
Apart from the defence where we played 4 centre backs?
I can see why Phillips and Traore were played in the wide positions. Unfortunately, Phillips only gets 1 cross in about 6 right and Traore must surely never, ever start again?

I think Ned is better at RB if anything. He did ok today both positions, a solid defender and quick enough. The rest of his game like the rest of our defence is not PL quality. There's still one square peg in a round hole. Onuoha never a right back, painfull to watch at times, big drop in quality from Isla. Isla is a wing back but much more a right back than Onuoha.
That was because we only had 2 in CM , playing 2 wide men like we did today gives that risk. I think 1 wide man is enough. Krancjar or Henry would have been better selections than Traore today. We're just not good enough. I liked the look of Karate-Zarate who looked like he wanted to make something happen every time he had the ball. But it's the midfield that is so poor for me. You have to have a midfield that can keep the ball and control the tempo of the game, slowing things down or speeding things up where necessary. Our midfield lacks decent ball control, support for each other, awareness, cohesion and the ability to make that telling pass. Even on the deck the ball moves so quickly through the midfield it is as though every attempt on goal is a kick-and-rush. From that it is no wonder that Austin, for example, has little support once he's in possession because the ball is always coming up too quickly for the midfield in particular to push up as a unit; all you can hope for is a knock-down or a defensive error that somebody gets on the end of.
We bang on about how poor we are in defence, which is true. But, again, it is because the midfield isn't doing its job, and possession is often and easily surrendered in the opposition's half, that the defence is put under so much pressure. Even the best defences will crack more often if the midfield in front of them is this poor.

I agree Traore did ok. But I think we would have had more control of the game with just 1 wide man (Phillips) and another in central mid, Henry today, with both Fer and Adel playing.Get real man he tracked his man well enough having not played he stopped Cylne what bloody game was you watching up the quiet end
