I've seen nothing since 2011 that he has either the ability or inclination to be a hero for us. He might do 15 minutes for us after Zamora goes off knackered I suppose. Someone said on New years day - might have been you Ellers - Harry will spend the window chasing targets that are never going to come to us, then we'll panic buy some clown or end up with nothing. Looking like he pinned his faith on the ever reliable smashing sort that is Adebayor. Only surprising thing of yesterday really, is that Levy never managed to fool us into having BAE again.
Tooting maybe Levi feels sorry for us. There other things to consider here as well? Take Karate, he comes to us on loan and Harry blows all his confidence by not playing him. He then tries to send him back to get Jarvis which comically fails, so the unwanted Zarate stays at QPR. I wonder how he feels or will his negativity be spread around the dressing room? Why give Harry your support if you want him out? TF spent the day trying to get deals done so they are saying. Sadly TF is surrounded with too many football advisers now (Harry,Hoddle,PB,Les... have i missed anyone)? All of who want the club going in different directions. This does not help us. Apparently Harry didn't turn up to his planned TalkSport interview today. Is this something to read into or is he just concentrating on football? Finally We must all be stupid because it wasn't just yesterday that we have missed out on players, especially a needed striker. This has been going on for 2 years under Harry. Even in the Championship season we needed strikers and the problem wasn't addressed then. I recall on the last day ending up with rubbish like Miaga,Doyle and Keane because Harry never got what he wanted. Spent all the window chasing Crouch and Defoe who were never going to come to us. Harry never learns. As i have said before Harry can only think about players that he has had before and like Harry most are past it or retired. Harry is a dinosaur of the modern game. Levi saw this and got rid. Whatever happens to us he will be gone at the end of the season but we will still be QPR whatever division we are in.
Spot on Ellers it's certainly more of an issue than can be pinned on one day. The number of windows chasing Defoe is embarrassing but he has no plan b.
Last January in the Premier League we brought in Remy, Samba and Townsend among others for £20-30 million. What good did that do us? Fact is we don't know! All we can do is get behind the team and hope the club have made the right choice. Buying players isn't always the answer.
Remy scored goals and made us a lovely profit. Samba, by the grace of God, we got our money back. Townsend scored goals, rampaged and cost little to nothing. Buying the right players always gives you the chance of getting 2 out of 3 right and provides a good basis to actually turn a profit. Buying non scouted has beens looking for one last pay day isn't always the answer.
Have you ever thought that it might be that most players don't want to come to the Rs and Harry has to rely on players from his past with whom he has a good relationship, even though they are past their best. They may be his back up when other things don't work out. Most targets haven't worked out and so this is what you get.
Sort of agree but players came to QPR under Hughes so i don't think its just QPR. We have paid good money in now and in the past. The whole club needs a fresh start, that includes stadium/manager/training facilities/vision. Like Harry we are not adapting to modern football. This all takes time and i can see us in the wilderness again before it gets better.
I miss the days of a bracing stroll along Cleethorpes golden miles before an eagerly awaited clash at Blundell Park, or the police escorts on a Tuesday night at Vale Park, wilderness here we come!
