So is FFP to blame?
It's definitely having an effect.

Not only the UEFA FFP but the EPL FFP, which is limiting the increase in wage bills. Clubs are having to offload players in order to bring fresh faces in, which is obviously a more difficult task.

Unless you can get bags of money from DHL, unban the BBC from interviews and rename your training ground ;)

Anyone see the horrific new name to be of of Real's stadium?~

These deals are

How the **** are Chelsea getting £50m for reject Schurrle?

This, Lukaku, De Bruyne. It's all a FFP scam and Chelsea must be giving tens of millions back to clubs in off the books rebates.

Where's the £50m rumour come from...? If true, surely its got to be investigated.

"Wilfried Zaha has rejoined Crystal Palace from Manchester United on a permanent basis with the England winger believed to have signed a five-and-a-half-year contract. The player had moved to Old Trafford two years ago for an initial £10m, returning to south London at the start of this season on a season-long loan. The fee to make that return permanent is thought to be around £3m"

So Man Utd loaded Zaha for 2 years for £7m and played him twice

£3.5m per appearance. Zero goals. Good deal <ok>

I've only ever heard 20-25 million range, which is expensive for a sub, but then he is a world cup winner I suppose.

Just seen the £50m on the BBC running transfer updates. It doesn't mention the tranfer fee being that, it says "Schurrle to cost Wolfsburg £50m?" so may include wages etc.

Doesn't explain De Bruyne and Lukaku though

What's to explain?

They used their noodle, saw what was coming with FFP and gambled on young talent, hoovering up Europe's top quality youngsters with the intention of them eventually making it in their first team or selling them on to generate funds for their own purchases.
