And do you honestly think that Rodgers had no overriding influence in the decision to bring in the Soton lads?
I've consistently pointed out that both he and Ayre confirmed Brod has the final say. I was merely taking the piss out of you 'the committee signed the good (in you opinion) players but Brod signed the **** ones'
I am 100% sure it was BR that wanted Lallana and Lovren and insisted on pursuing them as the price went up. We'd already seen the committee, when having the majority influence, had turned Lovren down for less money and go for players 24 and under, which Lallana doesn't fit especially for the price. To me it looks as if Rodgers looked at Soton last season and thought they've done well and play a similar style, so their players will fit into the team. Which would have been fine if they hadn't cost £44 ****ing million.
1) Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is considering summer deals for Hannover midfield pair Lars Stindl, 26, and Leonardo Bittencourt, 21. (Daily Star) 2) Rodgers is preparing a £29m bid to beat Paris St-Germain, Real Madrid and Juventus to 17-year-old midfielder Ruben Neves, known as the 'new Sergio Busquets' at Porto. (Daily Express) 3) Former Liverpool winger Boudewijn Zenden thinks Liverpool's fans will start turning against manager Brendan Rodgers if he doesn't win a trophy soon. (Talksport) 4) Porto striker Jackson Martinez, 28, has overlooked a move to Tottenham, Liverpool and Everton for the opportunity to play in Serie A, according to his agent. (Daily Express) And to finish, a random funny one... 5) Manchester United have told season ticket holders they will be banned from the Premier League match against Sunderland on 28 February if they do not buy a ticket for next Tuesday's FA Cup replay against Cambridge United. (Daily Mail) 1) Who...? And who...? 2) £29m for a 17 year old...? 3) Simply...shut the **** up you knob 4) Good luck to him 5)
Saw all those earlier. Bittencourt is an AM from what I gather, has big potential on FIFA £27m for 17 year old is ridiculous and can't see us or anyone paying that. Prop just his release clause which the lazy journalist has just used instead.
someone missed a decimal point we'd not pay 27 for anyone this window.............not unless they are english and about to go out of contract of course
Thats the point of release clauses. Most European clubs put a ridiculous price in as they have to have one in the contract for legal reasons... Put a price no one will at so you have no chance of losing them against your will Its t's only here where we don't have to have one that they are set at more reasonable prices.
However you were actaully wrong about that because they don't this his windows been a big disappointment all round. No big moves or signinga by any big clubs so far
My advice to you would be to use a good or the very least, decent solicitor should you ever need it. You certainly shouldn't use that half arsed one you quoted
