You clearly have not idea how the Americansform their surnames and place names following their colonization. You do know the USA is a 'new country' don't you? It's not hard to trace it back.

Of course it can go back further to when we were colonised, we are a nation of cross breeds just like the yanks, but we don't need to, the connection to our area is well and truly established. People with a nordic or Scottish heritage would need to go back further to establish their connection, we only need to trace it back to this area. I don't know what planet Humbles is on.

That's my whole point, they get their names from their ancestors who originate from different counties, the USA is new country.

Yanks love this ancestor connection stuff, they'll embrace us like brothers if we reciprocate, and you know how friendly our visiting fans are. We're so gearing up to an American tour like. Get another English club on board and we can have a mini Tournament, us, DC, Toronto(conditions of the Defoe deal reported) and another. Our visiting fans on this tour should trigger a very close relationship with DC. Short could well be a genius for piecing the historic connection and bringing it into the modern day with this partnership.

I'm not the one who's confused…
The tournament idea is a great one, and could very easily meet with success.
There is already one happening in the summer here, which covers the entire country. Big name teams, with big name players. The tournament covers the entire country and guys like me eat it up. Get to see Ronaldo, Pirlo, etc etc. I'm aware that you all know the EPL is popular here, but the scale might astonish a few. It's getting really ****ing big. So big, there is a consensus it is holding the MLS back, because numbnuts like me are following English teams instead of our own. I've been on 606 and Not606 for eight years, but couldn't name more than five players from the San Jose Earhquakes, the local club.
So, plenty of room for another tourney, and integrating MLS would have to be key.
Playing up the historic connection would not only work, it's pure genius. Send a note of to Maggie pronto. I'll get it started on this end.

Earthquakes new stadium opens in the summer and it looks canny. Supposedly, they have biggest bar of any footy stadium anywhere. Behind goal, as wide as the pitch. That will easily be enough incentive to get our group to attend!
