    1. That the top three teams in the Prem should all be beaten at home in the cup on the same day

    2. There is a real possibility that this years runners up won't qualify for Europa Cup!

    3. And most disappointingly, we have lost at home, conceded three goals and there is no meltdown. What is the world coming to!

    4. And that one of the top three teams in the Prem wasn't considered worthy of being filmed by the BBC.

As I walked out the ground at Wigan yesterday, I overheard two Wigan fans talking about the cups. They said, "Crikey, Chelsea, City and Tottenham all went out at home in the cup"

I couldn't help myself. I said to them, "That's typical. The top three teams in the country have lost at home, but you named only two of them!"

Can you explain point 2? Is it because the it might be the only way the winners can qualify for the Euro Cup. It should be how it is anyway.

As for Point 3 there may well be a meltdown on Saintsweb. I haven't bothered to check. The posters there are generally more highly strung

OK, if you want one ....... We're out of the cup ...... sack the manager, get rid of half the team and bring in Pardew to save us. We could still go down on 42 points you know ............. :emoticon-0105-wink:

OK. For umpteen years, it seems, one of the top 4 has won the Cup allowing the gallant losers to have the winner's place in the second tier competition - cf Us in 2003; Millwall 2004 etc. This year the winner is much more likely to be from outside of the top 4 and so claim the Europa.
