    There were some comments made today to rival some of HIAG's foot in mouth blunders, but which was the worst/funniest one ?

    1. Jose Mourinho 'It would be a disgrace to go out of the FA cup to Bradford'
    2. Manuel Pelligrini 'After a defeat (Arsenal) we always respond like Champions'
    3. Pochettino 'The game was always under our control'

    From their board, it seems Chelsea fans didn't want to win the F.A.Cup anyway.

    So there.

    So like Nah nah nah.

    They're top of the PL and still in the CL so who like needs to win the poxy F.A.Cup and that. OMG <doh>

    Yep, but it's not like they refused to play in the competition and went to play in a mid season friendly tournament in South America instead.:biggrin:

    It's not like they didn't put out a decent team and lead 2 0 before ****ing it up.

    Touché.

    But I don't think it was Utd's decision was it?

    Of course it was their decision.

    "
    In a statement Edwards said: "We realise that many of our supporters will be as disappointed as we are with our decision not to compete in the FA Cup. "

    "Manchester United see this as an opportunity to compete for the ultimate honour of being the very first world club champions."

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sport/football/fa_carling_premiership/381662.stm

    Fergie manipulated the situation to look like the FA made the decision, but as Edwards pointed out it was purely down to Utd.<ok>

    The link you've used refers to Edwards saying the club had "no alternative" and that the decision had been made in the "national interest" because Utd's participation would help the 2006 World Cup bid. It was expected at the time that the World Club Championship would amount to something important. It would have been a very inauspicious start for the English and European Champions (and first ever English Treble winners) to be absent.

    Hardly a free choice.

    <laugh>

    Nah, Utd had a choice, and the FA Cup wasn't seen as important to them as the Fifa competition was.

    I saw the Edwards quote as what it was, a true reflection of the situation.

    Why? Which club refused to play in the fa cup?

    Guarantee your answer is wrong.

    United never take the FA Cup seriously. It's not like we're the joint most successful club to have won it, or had the joint most successful manager in the competition in the modern era :biggrin:

    Sunderland are in permanent meltdown mode. The Gus Out murmurings are starting now (they are boring as **** to watch to be fair).

    Their fan base have a huge sense of entitlement. One top 7 challenge 20 years ago and the think they should be a top 4 club. Fact is Big bad Short is turning a profit and using it to clear his debt. He has the club in much better shape than he inherited. How dare he? <doh>

    I don't understand their frustration, they don't even know they're born. They're just trying to avoid relegation like many other teams in Premier League, that's their level regardless of what their fans think they deserve.

  20. Did the Mousers really expect to beat the Chavs?
    <laugh>

    Comedy gold.

    I'm so sorry I'm banned from their board, as I'd love to go over there and rip the piss!
