I hope he's coming for that reason and not just to soak up some plaudits for the back to blue decision.

Just been looking at where we are and those around us in the Championship. Let's face it, and with no disrespect intended at all to Reading, the cup this weekend is a sideshow in the real scheme of things.

With Fulham, Brighton and Leeds all winning their games this midweek against good opposition whilst we lost ours, they've edged closer. Birmingham have got above us, Fulham are level on points with us, and a decent result for Bolton in their game in hand will put them in front of us as well. The next three teams below us still have that game in hand and could also make up ground.

Now if we get nothing from the Derby game next week that Tan is attending (highly probable), we could be right in the ****. How it's changed from initially targeting an auto spot to then chasing a playoff place, now we're descending into the relgation maelstrom for the run in. I've said on another thread that we're very lucky that the current bottom 3 are becoming detached.

All along we're told by Slade to give him time. Time is something we'll have a lot of in League One if those below us start putting runs together. Time to reflect on the crap management of the club by the last two managers and the people responsible for appointing them. Tan shouldn't just front this out - he should admit to another mistake in Slade. I doubt he'll come over to attend many League One games.

Sorry for the length of my reply whiffle........<laugh>

    Your spot on Sparks.

I've found myself, for the first time ever over the last two or three weeks, contemplating hoping we get hammered, to force Tans' hand & Sack Slade. I can't quite do it though in the league. The cup though is a different beast. For the first time EVER I'm hoping a Cardiff City team get hammered tomorrow (I'm talking seven or eight nil). If that happened then I can't see Tan standing by Slade & he'll do the honourable thing & put Slade out of his misery.

I know that seems a bit drastic, but in the long run, it could be the best possible result for us.

Vince has picked himself to play up front in a 4 3 3 formation and has promised an Earnie style summersault when he scores. Since we last saw him he's been working out and lost quite a few pounds.

He's actually admitted he's pissed off being in the red and wanted a way to get back in all black....................

....................so he's just bought New Zealand. <laugh>

(apparently we're doing the Haka for the Derby game)

We could be in deep trouble especially since Wigan are likely to come good. Interesting to read today that Slade is saying our weekly wage bill is unsustainable so he is clearly under instruction to have a clear out. At least he is making a decent job at that.

I can't see that happening - there's no evidence of any improvement there since Malky was appointed (5 points from a possible 27 is hardly coming good) and they've just sold Ben Watson to Watford. I think them and Blackpool are both in serious trouble - it's a question of who goes with them. Millwall are really struggling and you'd have to put them in contention for the third spot.

You know what - despite Millwall's struggles, if mad dog Holloway gets the bullet because of it, I'd take him here over Slade any day for the last dozen games. That may seem like straw clutching, but despite him being as mad as a hatter, he'll do things at the club that need doing to change its' fortunes over the short term that Slade would never dream of.

You're a brave man suggesting Holloway. But I agree. Unlike Slade he has achieved things. I still reckon Wigan will finish above us with or even without MM. Wigan might be losing a couple of decent players but it looks as though we might be losing half our team with replacements of dubious quality. And who wouldn't take MM as a manager over Slade to guide a team out of trouble.

I said similar to Sparks. He's dealing in the current facts (which are indisputable) but I agree that Wigan have potential to improve whereas I do not believe we have bottomed with regards to how bad Slade can make us.

Just get Dave Jones back as manager...At least he showed some true passion for the job even when he was forced to sell a winning team every season, I have a lot of time for DJ who would get the flack for not quite making it to the prem through lack of help and bad luck with injuries. You could do a lot worse...

DJ did a good job with us in terms of keeping us steady through a lot of **** but there is no way we should go back to him.

Slade tactically outclassed again today....time to go.
