I know, I understand that but at the end of the day he got caught, found guilty and dished a punishment. He needs to stop being a victim, take the punishment quietly and stop prodding the FL. He took them on, gained a temporary win, thought he was being smart and the moment they get a chance to bite they have. Apologise, keep quiet and wait patiently, not claim he will still write cheques and provoke them even more. Yes that was just him shooting his mouth off but it does him no good and the club more harm IMHO.
Morning ristac, I don't agree. I think Cellino handled this part very well. He is sticking two fingers up at the football league, telling them you can't fcuk with us
Ristac, I understand your point and agree with some. Cellino didn't say he would continue writing cheques, he said someone else will sign the cheques for him. Let's not forget under Italian Law Cellino is still innocent untill proven guilty on his third appeal, that's what makes it sound like more corruption by the FL, it's a witch hunt imo. The way the FL have been going after leeds for decades, do you honestly think they will stop and lose their biggest source of revenue to the PL? I agree with Ellandback, Leeds need someone to stand up to the crooked FL, and Cellino does, or they will just continue walking all over us and it won't matter who the owner is.
How much worse would you feel if it was 1 win in 20 as suggested and we're sitting on the bottom with 17 points?
everyone has a right to their point of view , i do realise that cellino did not pay tax on his yaught but to be honest, sorry for the pun big corporations try to aviod paying tax all over the place and i would not be surprised if a few members of the football league who made the ruling are tax dodgers , although this does not take away what cellino did there are 3 things i like about cellino 1. he is a character and its great to have a character in the game or any game thats what makes it entertaining and we have got one in cellino and its sad in todays society were nobody wants a character,. 2 cellino has got money nobody can deny that and as we have seen what has happened to man city and chelsea when they have had money ( oh and dont tell me abranavich chelsea owner is straight as a dye he is an outright crook i dont see the football league going after him ) 3. i beleve cellino has got leeds at heart and cares about leeds thats my view and also i think cellino will have put funds in place already to keep leeds going while he is banned so does it matter as long as leeds go up ? and that is up to leeds players !
He may have a lot of money, but he's buying second rate foreigners, most aren't good enough IMO and who have been on twatter saying if Cellino goes that they want to leave too. Well ****ing let them go, especially that black pudding who can't jump or head a ball..
Fantastic 1-0 win over championship leaders and a double over bournemouth this season NOW ITS 21 POINTS NEEDED IN 19 MATCHES !! AND MOVING UP THE LEAGUE ! as i said before instead of relegation lets go and attack and get promoted through the play offs !
Shako, with respects, I disagree about the cheap foreign imports. I personally believe most of'em are good enough, with 1 or 2 not really tried out yet. Stats show most of Cellinos signings are good players, yet the same stats show the likes of Cook and Byram are not good enough, even Austin has better stats that Cook and Byram, and he can't shoot. However, that's not my point. Surprise Surprise, Hockaday has a better pro rata than Redders, and I believe Darko would be pretty close now too. People have to understand why Cellino brought the players in he did. He was aware of the upcoming embargo, thanks to GFH. Had he gone out and spent millions on players and a coach/manager, then he would'ave jeopardised the club even more to the tune of up to a 30 mill fine, which the FL are talking about imposing on QPR for overspending if and when they return to FL. Had he copped a 30 mill fine for the club, most anti Cellino haters would be jumping up and down shouting "look what Cellinos done now, we copped a 30 mill fine cos he overspent on players, Cellino out" What he did was save the club from a more serious fate, he also got rid of a lot of deadwood and journeymen which helped to ease the embargo to the tune that we can actually bring in free or loan players, but under certain restrictions, and, prevented any possibly of going into admin. In all honesty Shako, which would you have preferred? Had he also spent millions at the beginning of this season on players etc, then we would run the risk of going through another embargo next year. A lot of drearies on JA606 follow each other when it comes to degrading Cellino and/or finding articles that they can twist and lead'em back to Cellino, they don't care about the facts, they don't want to know or acknowledge the good things Cellino has done for our club, they just want to degrade him and find him at fault for everything; certainly not the type of people you'd want to go out on a night on town with, nor turn your back on. Let's also not forgot how GFH tried to stab Cellino in back and set him up for a fall, thinking they could walk back in if/when Cellino got banned from running the club, they were hoping for it, but Cellino saw through it and stood up to them. As it happened, Cellino lasted longer than GFH expected and it scuppered their plans. I can respect a person having their opinions on Cellino, for or against, but I'm dead set against abusing anyone the way they abuse Cellino, but not to his face of course. I believe a person has a right to dislike Cellino for whatever their reasons are, but they should be decent enough to recognise, acknowledge and give him credit for what he has done, and is doing for our team and club. Lets be realistic, he's done more good for our club in 10 months than our last 3 owners combined over a period of 10 to 12 years. Once again Shako, not a dig at you or anyone, just something I think some people need to know in general....
No offence taken, that's what this forum is for, different opinions. I'm old school and I don't really read into stats and all that bollocks. I'll leave that to you opta fans. I'm not slagging Cellino and I agree he's pumped money into the club, but I only care about what happens on the pitch and at the minute we've near the bottom of the table. My dig regarding the new players was more about the few that have started to whinge about leaving if Cellino steps down. I also think he should let the experts pick the players we need and he should concentrate on the off field bollocks. Your opinion is always welcome and respected Leedslover... Don't think I've abused Cellino or maybe I misread your comment. I'm sitting on the post regarding Cellino.
No Shako, it wasn't aimed at you, was saying it in general, the abuse section was about some on ja606 who only pick, and or find anything they can twist into a negative against Cellino. One of the good things about not606 is, everyone uses humour, but the debates and conversations, irrespective of opinions and views are intelligent, sensible and mature. I LOVE IT......
Cheers leedslover I couldn't understand him fighting it to be honest 2 months is nothing he should just bite the bullet and take punishment. What do you think of him is he good or bad for the club
Roker, he's a mad Eyetie who has a phobia of the colour purple and the number 17. He also has a compulsion to sack Managers. He does dip his hand in his pocket though, and I believe he is trying to do the right thing for Leeds Utd, so I back him!
yeah I was more worried about a banning order than a fine...but I lost my favourite Beanie hat........
Those last three words do not apply to me......more like stupid, irresponsible and childish.....oh and a pisshead(apparently)......
