Shako, with respects, I disagree about the cheap foreign imports.
I personally believe most of'em are good enough, with 1 or 2 not really tried out yet. Stats show most of Cellinos signings are good players, yet the same stats show the likes of Cook and Byram are not good enough, even Austin has better stats that Cook and Byram, and he can't shoot. However, that's not my point.
Surprise Surprise, Hockaday has a better pro rata than Redders, and I believe Darko would be pretty close now too.
People have to understand why Cellino brought the players in he did. He was aware of the upcoming embargo, thanks to GFH. Had he gone out and spent millions on players and a coach/manager, then he would'ave jeopardised the club even more to the tune of up to a 30 mill fine, which the FL are talking about imposing on QPR for overspending if and when they return to FL.
Had he copped a 30 mill fine for the club, most anti Cellino haters would be jumping up and down shouting "look what Cellinos done now, we copped a 30 mill fine cos he overspent on players, Cellino out"
What he did was save the club from a more serious fate, he also got rid of a lot of deadwood and journeymen which helped to ease the embargo to the tune that we can actually bring in free or loan players, but under certain restrictions, and, prevented any possibly of going into admin. In all honesty Shako, which would you have preferred?
Had he also spent millions at the beginning of this season on players etc, then we would run the risk of going through another embargo next year.
A lot of drearies on JA606 follow each other when it comes to degrading Cellino and/or finding articles that they can twist and lead'em back to Cellino, they don't care about the facts, they don't want to know or acknowledge the good things Cellino has done for our club, they just want to degrade him and find him at fault for everything; certainly not the type of people you'd want to go out on a night on town with, nor turn your back on.
Let's also not forgot how GFH tried to stab Cellino in back and set him up for a fall, thinking they could walk back in if/when Cellino got banned from running the club, they were hoping for it, but Cellino saw through it and stood up to them. As it happened, Cellino lasted longer than GFH expected and it scuppered their plans.
I can respect a person having their opinions on Cellino, for or against, but I'm dead set against abusing anyone the way they abuse Cellino, but not to his face of course. I believe a person has a right to dislike Cellino for whatever their reasons are, but they should be decent enough to recognise, acknowledge and give him credit for what he has done, and is doing for our team and club.
Lets be realistic, he's done more good for our club in 10 months than our last 3 owners combined over a period of 10 to 12 years.
Once again Shako, not a dig at you or anyone, just something I think some people need to know in general....
