We're half way through the month and I am dreading the next two weeks. What other lower league journeymen can he bring in? I was underwhelmed when he was appointed not sure what adjective applies right now.
I agree completely, he's currently proving himself a very average manager. I just think he's just the sort of guy that might grind out 4 or 5 results in a row and put pressure on teams in freefall (like us).
A journeyman manager wants to sign journeyman players. I can only conclude this is why he was appointed and Slade is merely following orders. My hope that Mama Tan would persuade her son to sack Mr Slade has now been extinguished and that the master plan is to survive in the Championship (if we are lucky) at the lowest possible cost.
I'm hoping Tan has told Slade, 'get rid of the big earners, keep us in this division at minimum cost, then sling your hook'. Perhaps the manager Tan really wanted isn't available until the summer and Tan wants to clean the slate before he arrives. Optimistically yours, Remote.
Get's my vote! Just a rider - when will Tan realise he needs advice from people within the game with some knowhow. The choices of the last 2 managers have been disasters. To misquote Oscar Wilde, one mistake is unfortunate, two mistakes is careless.
remote, exactly what I have written on another thread but with fewer words, well done, brevity is king.
Finally at least he's a midfielder. http://www.newsatden.co.uk/45476-millwall-and-cardiff-chasing-palace-midfielder-okeefe.html
WoL says Peltier/Maynard swap. Possibly makes more sense as Peltier can play anywhere in the back 4 and defensive midfield. As I said elsewhere I feel sorry for Maynard, nice bloke, great attitude but not the same player since his injury at Millwall. Lost the bit of pace needed at this level. He needs regular football to give him a chance of recovering some form and is unlikely to get that with us. Sod's law he will score in our game up there.
Looks interesting and has Prem experience. Never set the world on fire though and only played 4 games on loan at Blackpool. Might see coming to us as an opportunity to forward his career - more so than at Millwall. Possibly a choice between leaving the bright lights of London and coming to the sticks with us. How much ambition has he?
This sounds a bit more promising: http://www1.skysports.com/football/...in-talks-with-hamburg-midfielder-tomas-rincon
Whoops - I knew I'd seen that name linked with us before - here's an article from when Ole joined us a year ago.......... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...lks-sign-Hamburg-midfielder-Tomas-Rincon.html
...and City target yet another Italian keeper - this time from Inter. Anyone that sure Marshie isn't going? http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/cardiff-city-prepare-to-move-in-for-inter-milan-youngster
Interesting! Given that OGS was looking at him and now Slade that suggests to me the signings are not being controlled by the managers. Most probably knew that already.
Am I in a time warp? Both of those Rincon articles are dated January 2014. Are we not in 2015? As for an Italian keeper? They have denied Marshie is going. I expect Moore to play on Saturday anyway so the run up to the Derby match will be interesting.
You are right. Apologies. What about this. Facebook (Wales Online)are reporting Brayford to Sheffield Utd for £1.5m and that we are open to offers for Le Fondre
Well the Blades are in funds as a result of their cup run. For me the question is would he want to go? Great cup run yes, but not so good in Div. 1 so could still be there next season. Okay so could we if the cup half empty guys are right but surely it would show greater ambition if he stayed with us. As for ALF? Does Slade have another striker lined up?
