Why sell him then only to bring in a like for like replacement . he's defiantly improved and is on his way to his old self .

I worry about Taylor and his attitude, As far as im concerned he has proved a lot of us wrong by doing a good job so why does he feel threatened by competition as i recall him saying that if Ben stays he wants to go and now we are looking for another LB up pops this nonsense of wanting to go again. His agent have obviously alerted these teams. I want Taylor to stay and have enough confidence in his ability than make noises because he will have competition and if not then get rid and get someone who relishes competition to play...
My memory is he was looking to move almost before the ink had dried on his first contract - or if not actively looking was not denying reports linking him to other clubs.
Taylor's agent must have spread the word that he wants to move.
I assumed Olsson or Naughton would come in to give us cover in that position,but realistically none of the three would be happy to sit on the bench.
I don't think Olsson or Naughton are any better than Taylor. In fact a quick check on Olsson's stats shows that he likes to pass, does not dive into tackles, strengths - blocking the ball, weaknesses - passing, tackling, and average rating per match is 6.4 in the Championship.

Naughton Is a right back and has struggled when playing on the left. He is no replacement for Taylor.
Wrexham are due a 10% cut of any fee for sale of Taylor. Presumably Jenkins is working flat out to get around that one.

SWANSEA City are set to follow up the signing of Kyle Naughton by landing Norwich City's Martin Olsson — but that will not necessarily spell the end for Neil Taylor.
Naughton last night penned a three-and-a- half year Liberty contract after Swansea paid Spurs almost £5 million for the 26-year-old right-back.
And the Evening Post understands the club are close to snapping up a second new full-back as they near agreement over Olsson.
Monk has admitted the Swedish international is on the radar, saying: "We have had a look at him and the club have had discussions with Norwich.
"There are a few other options we have, so it's a case of getting the right target for the right price."
Swansea are expected to pay between £4 million and £5 million for Olsson, but Monk says the arrival of a new left-back does not mean Taylor will depart.
The Welsh international is a target for Crystal Palace, who have seen a £3 million offer turned down.
But Monk has reiterated that he wants two natural left-backs to fight for one position.
"People will put things together, but Tayls has done well for us," he said.
"I understand a bid came in, but I leave that to the club.
"Right now he is playing for us.
"He is happy here and I am happy with him, and my aim all along has been to get two players to push each other for the shirt."
Monk also revealed Stuttgart's attacking midfielder Alexandru Maxim is another player Swansea have "looked at".
"It's about trying to see what's out there and you put feelers out, but there's nothing concrete," he said.
As for suggestions that Swansea could look to make loan signing Tom Carroll a permanent recruit, Monk added: "He has done fantastically well, but that's not something we've discussed.
"He is with us for the season so it's something we will talk about towards the end of the season."

He is right, we should have two "1st teamers" fighting for the same position, although that always needs to be handled well....Gomis situation springs to mind.
I can understand waiting a bit on Carroll as we do have him until the end of the season, but his value will just go up the more he plays for us, and we'll end up losing out...DeGuzman...? If we can get him for £5m now, we should be doing that ASAP! Unless there's already an agreed purchase fee clause in the Loan deal?

The Carroll situation makes no sense to me. He's a ready made replacement for Leon and given the price we should have taken the offer with both hands. Off-load Shelvey and bring in another more physical defensive midfield player would also be high on the list.
DeGuzman was told he wasn't wanted - why do you think we got shafted over Siggy? Without that 'coup' we're have looked very silly.
Monk said he wanted JDG but that he wss holding out to look at his options I.e. Napoli. We also didnt get shafted over Gylfi.

I see your point. I know De Guzman was hoping to stay but we left negotiations until after the World Cup - not a screaming endorsement of him being wanted.
And yes, I agree about Carroll. I think he's a cracking player but not a Monk player perhaps - he seems to prefer brawn at the back in Shelvey.
