I think Saints might be too. I this stays as it is it keeps ManC those three points closer to Saints than they want to be. And remember, ManC go to Stamford Bridge in a few weeks too. That'll be another loss in all likelihood.
Indeed TSS, it is in fact their next game and we have Swansea at home. Citeh are being dragged back into the pack.

City might be getting dragged back into the pack, but I'm more concerned about Arsenal taking dead aim at top 4. I'm pretty sure City won't finish any lower than 3rd, and Arsenal won't finish any lower than 4th. So I guess we'll have to finish 2nd then.(I think there may be a flaw in my maths there).

Why stop there? Let's go for the title which we will win by beating Man City in the last game of the season. No doubt the big teams will have had a bad season rather than us being good!

It'll be interesting to see how they react if the gap with Chelsea expands further...I doubt very much that they get caught by the pack, but they could well be in 'nothing to play for' territory in short order.

No. You're finally beginning to sake off your years of expecting Saints to be mediocre. 2nd is a perfectly acceptable position. [First would be nicer, but even I can't really see that happening].

Besides, Arsenal could be crap next week. They're not reliable.

I want to mention what a great game Mike Dean has had. Kept the game flowing with some great advantages, got the penalty call right and got the bookings right as well.

There was quite a long time (post Lawrie McMenemy, pre Harry Redknapp) when mid table mediocrity was the dream.

Was just going to mention that. There was a spell where he played three or four advantages in one sequence, which ended in chances at both ends...he's been the only standout performer who isn't wearing a yellow shirt.

OK, Archers. I picked the wrong poster. There are some on here who still expect the worst though, instead of enjoying what's happening.

Arsenal win 2-0..!

Nah, you were right, I'm inclined to pessimism where football is concerned (Saints and England). I do remember us finishing 2nd in the 1st Division though.

Arsenal know how to finish in the top four. Arsenal improve in the second half of the season.

I don't care what anyone says, in my opinion today's result was a very bad one for us, Utd, Spurs and Liverpool - and nothing will change my opinion. Not even the realistic fact that we could be just two points behind City in one game's time.
