Lets come back to planet earth shall we. .We are 9th in the biggest league and are gaining points at a steady rate that will be enough to stay another season in the top flight. If your not happy with that then you are expecting far to much from a small side like us punching well above our weight...long may it continue...

Yet you constantly exhibit your unhappiness with, and disdain for,Michael Laudrup, the legend who propelled the Club into a 9th place FINISH,guaranteeing "another season in the top flight"; won the League Cup,and led the team into Europe.

Not once have you ever acknowledged THOSE FACTS.

So tell us,what "planet" do you come from? <laugh>

Back to assessing Monk, team selection at times bizarre, substitutions even more bizarre. At this stage of the season we have 1.45 pts per match, keep that up = 55 pts. Problem is I can't see that happening - over to you Monkey.

A hiding by Chelsea is the only way to describe todays performance, but Arsenal (8 goals), Man U (6), Spurs (6), Chelsea (5), (Everton (6) have all had thrashings since we were in the Prem, so we are in good company!

We lost at home to Chelsea last season, so we are still 9 points better off than the corresponding fixtures last season.

Current Points Total = 30pts
Last Seasons Points Total = 42pts
We are currently on schedule for = 51pts

Man Utd 1-2 Swansea (+3)
Swansea 1-0 Burnley (Same) *
Swansea 3-0 West Brom (+3)
Chelsea 4-2 Swansea (Same)
Swansea 0-1 Southampton (Same)
Sunderland 0-0 Swansea (-2)
Swansea 2-2 Newcastle (-2)
Stoke 2-1 Swansea (-1)
Swansea 2-0 Leicester (Same)**
Everton 0-0 Swansea (+1)
Swansea 2 Arsenal 1 (+3)
Man City 2 Swansea 1 (Same)
Swansea 1 Crystal Palace 1 (Same)
Swansea 2 QPR 0 (Same)***
West Ham 3 Swansea 1 (Same)
Swansea 1 Spurs 2 (Same)
Hull City 0 Swansea 1 (+3)
Swansea 1 Aston Villa 0 (Same)
Liverpool 4 Swansea 1 (Same)
QPR 1 Swansea 1 (+1)

We have yet to beat a team above us in the League at the time we played them.
Almost a third of our point were gained in the first three matches.

The other "village idiot" is making more noise again.

Regardless of the number of points gained, the facts are that the lower half of the table beckons, and will probably be achieved after the Saints' game.

You've used the word "achieved" as if it's something we're striving for. Maybe that's why Cartoon had a pop at you on the other thread. Just saying.

We've been in the top half all season and are in our realistic position of 9th. It would be inevitable that we'd drop down the league given that we were top of the table at one point.

I used the word achieved quite deliberately since I was recently berated for not acknowledging Monk's achievements to that date.
Since his achievements were zero,I responded accordingly.
He has now, however, actually achieved something,i.e. our heaviest P.L. defeat. <laugh>

Cartoon was extremely foolish to take his "pop" at me,since it was totally unjustified, unless,of course, the powers that control this Forum have brought in new rules to turn every poster into a clone of one another.

There you go, doing it again. Undertones of making Monk out to be an incompetent chump. "Monkenomics" being another example. If that's your view, then fine, you're perfectly entitled to it, but the sniping at the manager followed by smileys as if it's all a great joke is giving out mixed messages which rub a lot of people up the wrong way. Maybe you don't recognise it, or just enjoy doing it.

You're a unique character on here Vetch, and I always enjoy what you have to say and the way you write it. You can also be quite intimidating when you're dishing it out with both barrels, but you seem to take offence when some take you to task over your style (some might say agenda).

Am I going to get both barrels??

What makes it "realistic",I wonder?

The points accrued to date, whilst very welcome, have I feel, created a false impression. The points gained against Utd.were extremely fortunate, and Burnley deserved something on their Liberty appearance.
Realsitically,I think we are in a false position, and I will get a lot of flak from the usual suspects for holding this deeply unpleasant point of view.
But,hey,I'm not one of the posters who have now started attacking Monk and his style of play.
I simply sit back and watch it take place, smug in the knowledge that I knew it was coming.

A defeat at Southampton in the next match will see a further eroding of Monk's status on here.
