Is anyone surprised that self-regulating FIFA find that they are all wonderful chaps doing a fantastic job and all deserve another round of brown envelopes stuffed with cash..... I mean.... Christmas bonuses.

Even the PGMOL (referee's Old Boys Club thing) have announced that all referees (supplied by them) are fantastic, rarely make errors and are better than ever so yah-boo sucks to you!

Apparently a betting firm is paying David Ginola to run for the FIFA presidency. Would love to see him kick Blatter out but can't see it happening. He has no power or influence o_O
 
Unfortunately for football, it will probably take a crook to unseat a crook. I'm not sure Ginola is that crook.

If, howver, he's being used as a kind of stalking horse to open the doors to more serious chalkengers, then good. The sooner that appalling old thief is dislodged, the better.

The real question is that, if Ginola got the five endorsements he needs (yes, I know this is the cutoff point for all prospective FIFA Presidents...) and somehow won the election, would that mean the head of FIFA is more interested in Spurs not getting shafted by incompetent and/or biased refereeing than the head of The FA or Premier League?
 
Even if he does get to be on the ballot he won't take any of Blatter's votes, he'll get a couple of European votes if anything. Sepp must be delighted.

Ginola has "respectable loser" written all over him from this distance. He reminds me of Adlai Stevenson. Though I guess that’s a poor analogy, since Eisenhower turned out to be a good president. He didn’t start World War III. He did get the troops out of Korea and didn’t send them to kill Vietnamese. He did send the 101st Airborne Division, perhaps the most illustrious American formation, to protect black schoolchildren from white racists. His last speech was a warning about the military-industrial complex, a phrase he coined. When asked what Nixon had accomplished as Vice President, he said, "Give me a week and I might think of something."

Ginola's stepped out of the running - while Luis Figo has stepped in. It hasn't occurred to the multitude of people standing that they run the risk of diluting the vote, meaning Blatter clings on to power.
