Well said PNP I agree. It does show how much we attach to attitude, as fans we can be very impatient but if we perceive a player is giving his all then we are very tolerant. Holtby I think was similar in that respect we could all see that he worked his socks when ever he was given a chance. Bent on the other hand.....................................
If somebody's doing their best, then that's all that they can do. They can't make themselves better during a game. A talented player who isn't giving their all can improve, though. They just choose not to.
I love how the press ignore our attitude to soldado...it does not fit with their lie that we are fickle and dont give players a chance
I think that all PNP said is true and it's also, I think, to do with our first memories of him at Spurs was of him being horribly isolated and getting zero service so one of my first feelings for him was sympathy. And then as he's continued to miss sitters that feeling has grown. He's in my "Would regretfully let him go and admit that it's just not worked out" list whereas he could easily be more of a "He's clearly crap - get rid" group. We score again! Cheery Cheese!
"Lovely ball" from Soldado - that's another reason he has our sympathy - he is obviously a good player technically. He just can't do the very thing we bought him for.
