When you scroll down to the bottom of the page on the right hand side It says show ignored comment and the number of messages there are

I don't know about the new site but the old site didn't stop you seeing the comments anyway because of people quoting it

When you see a post by UiR or someone you just scroll on blah blah blah
But coming to a big empty space in the page with a link saying "be sure you don't click me you really don't want to see what's going on here" it doesn't work
