Former England forward Jermain Defoe has agreed a £14m deal to join Sunderland. Defoe will sign a three-and-a-half year contract at the Stadium of Light worth around £80,000-a-week.

If true, so well out of this....£14m!, £80,000 a week! Injury prone, pacey but getting older and undertrained impact forward
If he goes down with a team...it will cripple them financially

Well done QPR, this was a timebomb waiting to go off

Well done, QPR, indeed!

14million would be the wages paid at 80k per week for three and a half years - is this also the transfer fee?

Either way, that would be too much with little to no resale value.

I still bet there's someone who's gutted that such a top, top player has slipped through our fingers. I'd ask everyone to guess who I mean but it's too..... difficult.

Apparently West Brom are in for Lambert from Liverpool and Gestade from Balckburn......either one of those would have been a decent replacement for OBZ.....

Latest is the wonderfully named M'Poku...

Who was going off about players who's name begins with M' ?...

I find it slightly worrying that Tottenham didn't see fit to even throw this chap on for 20 minutes in a league cup game. On the other hand, that Belgium U21 team isn't bad. In the worst case, at least signing a crap 22 year old is a step on from signing crap 35 year olds.

At least that would be in keeping with Harolds' transfer policy.....Spurs player? tick.......
