We don't need Europa, we need CL. If you read back through the thread, the implication was that Morgan would leave even if we achieved a top 4. I don't think he would for a moment. If we don't make top4, and only achieve Europa, I think he'll be gone. But then I think we'll make it, so that's why I said he'll stay.
I still think there's a good chance he'll leave even if we do get a Champions League place. I think he genuinely loves the club, and the times he's had here, but feels its time for him to move on. Maybe if we finish Top 4 we make his decision more difficult, but I still think he want's to leave. Now if we go and win the league...well, that might change his mind
If I was Jack Cork and a thread with my name ended up in a discussion about Morgan leaving then I think I'd be gutted.
You see, Beef..? Our opinions actually do somewhat agree. Yet you assumed I was talking out of my arse again.
I really want Jack to stay, every squad needs good honest, reliable and flexible players in it. If he stays there will always be opportunities for him regardless of additional players being brought in and we all know he wouldn't let anyone down
and that alongside one or two other possible reasons is why I'm not a Premiership footballer .. too emotionally unstable. Watched highlights from our promo game against Coventry last night and we only have Kelv, Jose, Morgan and Jack still with us.
Really though, it's amazing to have three [four if you include Jack] of the core left. I watched the highlights of the JPT win the other day, and when both Papa Waigo and Antonio scored I realised, with a little pang, that I still missed them.
I'm pleased that the ball is in Jack's court. I would be disappointed if he decided to leave, but at least I know the club have at least tried to keep hold of him. I think regardless of the futures of Big Vic or Morgan he is an important part of the team and I think Ronald began to appreciate him more and more before his injury. I don't blame him for waiting and seeing what other clubs have to offer and possibly waiting to see where we finish this season. I think if we qualify for Europe then that would give him the potential for even more game time and could be what swings it
Daily Fail now reporting he is only stalling until later in the season. Makes sense from his POV, although does leave us in the position of worryingly losing him on a free. I guess he wants to assess how much of a squad/sub/starter player he is in Koemans eyes and weigh it up at a later date; which is fair enough.
Happy if he stays, will send him on his way with best wishes if he chooses to go. I trust we will sign a Clasie replacement
Look at last season, same thing happened at about this time and Cork stepped up. We barely missed Vic in the middle for the weeks he was out.
I guess so. He's perfectly capable, is our Jack. And suddenly, very required..! Let's look at that new contract again.
