We have Zizi in England, Kelly Brook lives here, we get snow, we're further away from Switzerland so we win, prestige of what?? and get a decent accountant. next...?
Zidane's in England? Kelly Brook is one woman. And she's on the internet. Italy's right next to the Alps. He's Swiss Prestige of winning the CL more recently than 2005 and the league more recently than 1990 Got those in Italy too. next...? I
The only thing that makes me not believe the Pjanic rumour is that it says we'll give him a contract of £60k a week... he's probably on more than that at Roma at the moment! £23m would be a good price for him, 23 so still young but vastly experienced, comfortable on the ball in tight areas, decent short and long passing, can move with the ball and also takes a wicked free kick so can take over from Gerrard from that aspect as well If we do get him I'll put all my faith back into the transfer committee
Meh, he is to us as Walcott is to Arsenal, An athlete with football boots. Like Michael Owen, unless you thread it in front of him as he is running, he never poses that much of a threat. He is also a bit rubbish when it comes to decision making on the fly, and usually does the wrong thing. By the time he improves his game, he will have lost his pace. Not worth more than 60K a week, if he wants more let him go get it with another mug club.
Apart from the times when Rodgers was extremely quick to drop him for a single mistake, where others like Skrtel, Lovren and Johnson would always be picked unless injured. And Balotelli has done nothing wrong - it's just a lazy assumption that he's a disruptive influence. Rodgers has openly criticised Mario, even saying that Mario was a last resort - something that every player wants to hear(!). Then singling him out and saying Mario isn't suited to the pressing game even though he works harder than Sturridge (and stats back that up as well as actually watching him play). I've heard whispers that Coutinho is unsettled ..
Massively disagree. Sterling is a special talent and he's been coached properly. Take away his pace and he still has skill and intelligence - proven by his ability to play in a number of positions without a decline in performance. Can play on either side, central, midfield, up front. Yes, his decision making is poor - he is only 19 after all. Decision making comes from experience.
So the Inter interest in Lucas is quite serious now. I'm not a Lucas fan but it would be very silly to sell him without a replacement - unless Can moves into that role but that would then mean he moves out of defence and we bring back Lovren
Not sure I agree with that, take his pace away and he's never the same player and would infinitely less effective.
You could say that about a thousand players Hazard... Aguero..... The list of lads who are top cos they've got the pace and running power is as long as yer arm I'd entertain you if you said all he's got us pace and he's the modern john salako or something but there no point even debating if someone had less pace they'd be less effective FFs if kuyt had any pace he'd have been a real player! It's a rather pointless debate on this level
Of course pace is a big part - but with certain players like Walcott, Shaun Wright Phillips, Lennon - take their pace away and they are absolutely nothing. Sterling at least has game intelligence, good touch, vision and can play a pass.
Balotelli just does not suit our system or playing style. The constant pressing is some thing he is not familiar with and its a lot of work for some one who is not used to it. He is also not the kind of striker who runs in behind. Balotelli was so nervous and lost in the early games because he had been chucked into a world he does not know and was asked to do things he had never done before. Us fans and the press then expected him to do these things perfect first time.
This is what I'm saying though - he DOES work hard. He's not working any less harder than Coutinho, Sturridge etc. It's just a lazy assumption based on his style and demeanor.
Sturridge and Coutinho both work for the team. Neither as much as I'd like but their ability in possession more than makes up for it. Balotelli doesn't work anywhere near as hard as those two. Linking the word 'work' with 'Balotelli' is offensive to the English dictionary!!!
I think coutinho has upped his level in past 5/6 games significantly Sturridge is a different case totally and should be viewed in context of Suarez and nothing this year... Do we know what he'd do in a 3 with sterling and coutinho in this system? Nope Balotelli has had a longish run nearly 3 months ago now? His work rate was not good
Sturridge is best with room to drift. That only works if he has either a strike partner or runners getting ahead of him. Its all down to Sterling because running ahead is not Coutinho's game. Markovic will get up there.
