I hope the day will one day come when our impatient fans will wait just a few games before making sweeping opinions on players they have only seen play once or twice..

    16/12/14.
'OK, I've been a bit disappointed with this guy so far.
However, I listened to Cotterill's opinion of him and he reckons he's just what we want.
He said Smith hasn't played for a very long time and it will take a while to get a 16stone player really match sharp and fit.
If Cotterill says Smith can 'play' then I believe him.
Cotterill's done brilliantly, far beyond my hopes and I'm glad to be proved wrong.

Let's give Matt Smith a chance and see where he is in January and not judge after 1 game.
Like some idiot did with an unfit Wade Elliott'.

'If Cotterill says Fielding can 'play' then......

Just seen the 1st goal from last night.
I find it harder by the day to keep faith with Fielding.

    Agree

If we're serious about being a kosher Champiosnhip outfit then we need a reliable and credible first choice keeper

Fielding has made some outstanding saves this season and at critical times, but I'm still not fully convinced by his overall play, comsistency, or his positional sense

I know a few Fulham fans, and all I've heard about Matt Smith were bad things. One of them rated him as one of their worst signings in his living memory.

You don't score four goals without being good, but I'm happy to sit back and see how he continues to perform for us. After those goals I doubt he'll be dropped any time soon.

Fielding isn't terrible but agreed we could have a better keeper, like Cech or De Gea

We have had far worse keepers than Fielding, he hasn't made hardly any major errors this year.

Errr what about the gills goal last game, granted he is better than earlier in the season.

His distribution, kicking, commanding his box is very poor.
    But a reasonsble shot stopper.

Do you think De Gea would come now, Utd have just signed a new keeper?

It was one goal and the second goal was far worse but I cant see anyone stating that Ayling and Flint should be replaced :emoticon-0110-tongu

Fielding has saved us points with outstanding performances all season long........
I dont think we would be where we are of he werent in goal........
So some should get a grip of reality and thankfully these comments are only these peoples opinions and nothing more.....
If he were a liability i be first to say get him outta our goal.......

Tbh RedRobin, I doubt 4 goals ( as great an achievement as that is) in a Tin pot trophy game will add too much value, if Fulham bring it up, we can counter with the 2 open goal misses against Yeovil. I reckon Fulham would take between £300-550K for him
