****ing same old same old, so frustrating if so Or did BR not want him as we have enough options in his position? We have been heavily linked obv in the summer maybe this time we weren't in for him? Although there were a lot of links again
Liverpool line up SHOCK swap deal for Nemanja Vidic after Man Utd and Arsenal snubs INTER MILAN have offered Liverpool the chance to sign Nemanja Vidic in a swap deal involving Lucas Leiva. Published: 11:35, Thu, January 8, 2015 By Ben Jefferson Nemanja Vidic could return to England with Liverpool New Inter boss Roberto Mancini is keen to take Leiva to Italy to bolster his midfield options. And at the same time, he has deemed Vidic surplus to requirements at the San Siro, particularly given his huge salary. The Serbian has been linked with a surprise return to Manchester United just six months after leaving the Old Trafford outfit in search of a new challenge. But United claim they will not be making any short-term additions in January, despite their ongoing problems at the back. Nemanja Vidic is surplus to requirements at Inter Arsenal have also reportedly been offered the Serbian defender but Arsene Wenger is said to have vetoed the move. Liverpool have had problems at the back - highlighted by the goal conceded against AFC Wimbledon in the FA Cup earlier this week - and Vidic could appeal to Brendan Rodgers. It now remains to be seen whether Liverpool are sufficiently interested in the 33-year-old to give the swap the green light. ************ So, in other words, Inter don't want him anymore and are touting him round, and we haven't said no yet. Apparently.
you'd think the many many stories bout vidic back to utd would have given a clue at his agent or inters agent are touting him big time. same as how stoney silence on valdes should tell you his agent was quite quite happy with the deal they had.
Don't want Vidic, guy left England cause he didn't have the legs for it anymore, not going to improve us a great deal. Leadership perhaps but not alot else. If we had the money I'd say look elsewhere but since we blew our money on Lovren, we're pretty much ****ed already. And losing Lucas, brilliant idea with the current situation. Is Gerrard going to play as a DM again, cause that works really well . Or is Can going to do it?
If we were in for Shaqiri, I am very worried about our club. We have missed out on countless players recently; Willian, Costa, Mkhitaryan, Sanchez (even with champions league) and more and ended up with some very, very average players. Rodgers doesn't offer any pull to players in the transfer market, we have lost Carragher to retirement, Gerrard for being deluded and Suarez to a big European club. Yes we are Liverpool and have history, but that seems to be all we have. Now we have no big names, I can't see any players wanting to come and play with for Rodgers, with Lallana in the Europa League. We are on a downward spiral to mid table.
I think we have to face facts here - Our owners are no different to the owners at Swansea, Southampton or West Ham and we've proven to be no match for Man Utd, Arsenal, City, Chelsea or most of Europe's elite or megarich clubs ambitionwise. There's a big difference between trying to sign these players and actually getting them over the line. The whole approach towards transfer scouting and negotiation needs a drastic change otherwise we will be exactly what we've been acting like in the transfer market - a midtable side
I said this before If you target the right guy, say Shaqiri, talk to agent (so you don't look an ass) offer the right fee then pay a good wage that the likes of spurs won't then you'll get your man Again Christian Eriksson looks better and better every week. 12 lousy mil and we paid double for a one trick pony in lallana or 1.5 times for markovic Are we competent even??? Seem to want targets establish cl clubs want and want to offer mid table wages I say raid the **** out of holland and Germany at the level we can compete at, stop looking at players in cl clubs or on Chelsea's radar and looking stupid when they do what anyone would in the end
I raised this point in the summer as a reason we're missing the big names recently. Its less about which club you play for now more about which manager you play for (with wages included). Rodgers doesn't know Europe and Europe doesn't know Rodgers, this seasons CL has hardly helped either. He'll be seen as the manager that rolled over for Real Madrid, the only way he can raise his European profile is if he wins the EL. This also bring up the point about who we target, Rodgers has little knowledge of Europe so goes for the players he does know, either PL players or out of favour CL players. PL players cost alot cause of the rivalry factor and every club knows who to milk another Prem club. And we seem to be pissing off all the CL players by ****ing around over wages and fees. We're also set to lose our only real draw, Gerrard, and as much as we deride him for his on the pitch performances he does bring a draw to the club. Now we'll be relying on Sterling and Sturridge to be the draw and they don't have that yet.
Look if lfc paid 3 times the wages for klopp or whomever who's got a name the guy himself would or should have a scouting network that would bring in better. Rodgers seem to have zero ability outside England total and not much in England But yes even if the name had no immediate names the chances are 3/4 guys would jump at it Lfc needed van gaal as technical director and Rodgers to not be such an ego before he ever did anything and take the job as head coach Right now there's no going back so my signature says it all
Stevie G off on a free Suso off on a free Shaqiri goes elsewhere Messi might go to Chelsea Bale might go to United Suarez might return to Prem to one of our former rivals All we need to do now is spend 30 million on an injured one season wonder with an attitude problem and it may just have been the best transfer window ever. I hope we beat Sunderland tomorrow as football has taken its toll on my happiness levels
Countinho, Balotelli, Sakho, Markovic, Can. All foreign exports from foreign leagues. You not being happy with the transfers is understandable but he clearly can attract foreign players from other leagues. When Rafa was here, we never signed any fantastic player to start straight away, we bought potential. Torres, Alonso, Garcia, Reina, arboloa, Macherano, Babel. I could go on and on, only established player he actually bought was Keane and he left six months later. Step back and see what has been done before raising points which are wrong.
<Ok> Add Moreno to that as well. We bought so many players in the summer, I'm really surprised our fans thought 2-3 would come in January as well - never going to happen. The group (BR word alert) we have do have talent and will start to gel, Sturridge coming back obviously can't come quickly enough. It's been no easy task trying to deal with the phase out of a 16 year legend because the fact is there is no right way to go about it due to the game being all about opinions and no one will agree on the best way to handle it. We are trying to build something here because we don't have the resources of city chavs mancs or even arsenal but the owners are expanding and we are gaining more lucrative sponsors to try and compete - it doesn't happen overnight though guys!
