Firstly, apologies for not posting much of late, I frequently read the forum but do not post as much as I should. Anyway, I was browsing the bbc website and came across this: http://m.bbc.com/sport/football/30699730 From some reason the sh*t journalist thought the most important thing to mention was that the Cherries are 3 points ahead of Derby and no even mention town! The lack of respect we get from the media is crazt. Anyhow, I would love it if Howe did leave the Cherries but can't see it happening unless he is offered big money. COYB
Yeah I read that earlier Clapham and I pretty much feel the same way about those tossers in the media but hey fook em!
I am more than happy for Bournemouth to keep setting the pace (and grabbing the attention) with us keeping them within striking distance..
I am more than happy for Bournemouth to keep setting the pace, staying top of the league for now (and grabbing the attention) with us keeping them within striking distance.. This weekend may be the moment the penny drops to some people if we beat Derby. If we beat them live on Sky they will have no option but to talk us up a bit and potentially being 5 points clear of third and one of the supposed 'big boys' of this league
To be fair to the Journalist he did mention they lead the table by 1 point, I assume the point of mentioning Derby was the gap to the play-off, how safe they are in the Automatic Places
I don't think too many of us are bothered whether we get attention or not. We're just a forgotten team who have managed to stay in the championship for over a decade, which is quite an accomplishment when you look at some of the teams who have been to league one in that time. It doesn't make for 'interesting' news pieces though like Brentford for instance.
Media can do whatever they want. We were constantly in the media spotlight under the laughable " Roy Keane's Ipswich " and I cannot say I miss it at all.
I agree that was painful but have to say I do slightly miss the praise we used to get off other managers about how we're the best team they've seen in the league under Burley and Royle etc rather than getting the sly remarks about being a physical unfashionable team but then again that's along time ago. You often find Mick teams never get the coverage because they just tick along nicely picking up points. Look at the season we nearly went up under Royle, us and Wigan got all the coverage then Micks Sunderland quietly came up and won the league
i find it slightly disrespectful to barely getting a mention from the various media outlets,so although we may not be a shining light to them and serious contenders you can bet your last penny that ballmouth, derby, boro, etc know we are there for the long haul. and as for Mick let him keep going about his business, doing what he does best,Richard Stearman was quoted a couple of days ago saying hes the best in the league and he can't see past ourselves and ballmouth as 1&2. i hope he's right.
