yeah 3 years till prem is fine, any more than that if we had a couple of failed attempts would start to perhaps be a worry - dont wanna do a cardiff and keep bottling it as IMO teams often have a 'window' where they are good for a couple of years and if they dont get promoted then they 99% of the time fall away for a good few years again, i thought forest would do this but with mclaren i doubt it - cardiff could well do this - seen this happen before with preston, leeds, sheff utd etc but stability is key at the end of the day and if we build properly we will be ready for the prem, of course we dont wont to 'do a derby' when we get there do we?
Id support Saints no matter where they are, as long as its good football and you can see the team trying, it is always nicer when we are winning but i would be happy just to see us as contenders in Champs for a few years rather than the Prems whipping boys in 18 months.
Saints is Saints whatever league we're in. The people who don't think like that are no more than money in the bank really.
SB3 is not on here don't you check your notifications Fran.....? I asked you for a reply ???????? Any way he is not back yet you will know when he is.
Hello all, a mixed view as always. Have to say a little worried about after we deliver 'le plan grand' and where do we go from there? Surely NC will realise that the persuit of champions league will again torpedo the club amidships from a financial position. So - where doe's his ambition end? A couple of season in the Championship will be ok for me. BUT can see us going up next year!! anyway UTS
in a way I prefer the championship as the football is more competitive and there is a hell of a lot more honesty. if it meant that we had to stay in the championship for 2 or 3 years to build for the Premier League so that if we got there we could give it a real crack at staying up then i would take that
How can people prefer or even be happy to stay in the championship for 5 years!?...I miss us badly playing the likes of United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle....etc. I don´t care about any cup runs, I just want us to focus on the league and focus on getting back to where we belong...which is in the premier league. We don´t need to be 5 years in the championship to have stability. I think we are as stable as we have been in ages! Adkins will be our manager for many years to come, we have a level-headed chairman who looks to be in the long run too, we have a great squad and great team spirit, amazing fan base, great stadium....These days there are not many clubs that can boast that. We are a premier league club and the sooner we are back in the prem the better!
Hear hear my man. Any necessary 'stability' will be gained through a positive campaign in the Championship - if that ends in promotion this coming season then I can't see any negatives (except perhaps higher ticket prices). COYR!!
