I think he knows that he can't play 90 minutes every week for a club in Europe's top league. We are happy to have him on a part time basis if you want, along with most other clubs in Europe, but he said in an interview earlier that he wants to carry on playing every week. To do that, he'd have to go to a weaker league...

MLS fits that perfectly. Weaker league where a team can be built around him and he doesn't have to do too much running, where he can enjoy awesome weather and get one last pay day for a 2 year contract.

We've completed 1 season without Fergie, and we still won more than you. A charity shield is better than nothing.

We're beginning to find our stride now this season, we've not lost for a while:biggrin:

Media stateside has him going to the Galaxy.

As a Galaxy fan this a very underwhelming signing. While the MLS isn't a quality league it terms of technical ability (although I'd argue Real Salt Lake and the LA Galaxy's starting XI's are more technically proficient than quite a few prem teams) it's a league full of athletes. Gerrard will need people to do his running for him which would prompt playing 3 in the midfield. We already have arguably the best midfield MLS, the signing of Gerrard would make that official, but our best player would still be Robbie Keane and he needs to play up top with a strike partner. The move makes absolutely zero sense tactically.

Really hoping NYCFC makes a move for Stevie and then plays the infamous Gerrard/Lampard midfield.
