He's actually scored 16 league goals since 2011, 25 in all competitions for club & country. Played 86 league games not 27 as well. Not sure where you get your stats from but these seem as dodgy as your invented Sagbo stats.

Sanogo's transfer came off the back of scoring 10 goals in 13 games in Ligue 2, which is like the Championship. He managed one goal in seven in the top division the year before. He hasn't impressed me for Arsenal this season at all, I don't know why we'd be interested other than it'd be a loan and wouldn't cost much money.

And yes Roo, it was almost certainly tongue in cheek!

Give Defoe a chance and he`ll put it in the onion bag that`s for sure, but isn`t that what we`ve been struggling at all season, creating chances ? as has been said would be nice, but can`t see it happening, he won`t come up north.

He'd be more likely to be playing up top with either Jelavic or Abel in a little and large style strike force.

    Financially yes.

Defoe on loan wise no. 1) Ben Arfa's loan will be ended this window, and 2) Defoe would be coming from a foreign club so wouldn't count as one of the two we're allowed.

It's irrelevent anyway though. Bruce said we'd be interested if he was available, which he thinks he is, but so would any side in the bottom half. It wasn't like he said we'd made a bid and were talking to the player and his agent or anything.

My apologies 'rose' I did not see the 2009-2014 record - 59 appearances for 14 goals.
With us, in the EPL, however, Sagbo has scored 2 from 30 appearances - could you tell me where these have been 'invented'?
If you think Sagbo is a 'Striker' then you better go and get a new pair of glasses as he isn't a strikers @rsehole!

Wrong again. If you go back that far he has over 20 goals. I'm not saying I rate him btw, he was utterly useless for us.

No, a while back you quoted figures about his record at Evian which claimed he scored far fewer than he actually did. Can't be arsed to dig it out. Sagbo can play out wide and up top. Whether you rate him or not doesn't change where he plays. His goals against Brighton and Sheffield United also got us to an FA Cup Final. You clearly have outrageous expectations of our strikers, you're regularly critical of Jelavic and even criticised Hernandez after the Everton game., where he was excellent. Bottom half sides don't have 20+ goal a season strikers, anything over 8 is a decent haul for a bottom half forward.

Jela and Hernandez have both averaged 1 in 3 this season, which would see them hit 12/13 in an injury/suspension-free season. Anyone with realistic expectations can see that that'd be a very decent return and Hernandez is still adjusting to the league.

Whereas Sagbo scored 25 from 99 appearances for Evian he scored 0 from 19 with Monaco and 2 fro 30 with us.
I have constantly said that Jelly chases round like a blue-@rsed fly but has nobody to play with or off. I have seen him time and time again, especially with Aluko in the team, where he is unmarked and screaming for the ball only to see someone else blast it high and wide. That is not being 'critical' of Jelly just the situation he finds himself in regularly.
Hernandez, imo, has failed to show much for a 10 million quid rated striker. He has raised his game over the past two so maybe he is coming into his own and is about to explode. I do hope so.
For the book, like James Cagney never said "You dirty rat", I have never mentioned 20 goal a season strikers. They would be way beyond our 'war chest' unless we got extremely lucky with a young signing from out of nowhere who would then be snapped up by a major club.
I would agree that 8 goals in a season from a striker with a bottom half club would be commendable.

Seems to have spend an awful lot of time on the sub's bench before he went abroad, not worth the risk with his wage demands.

We need more strikers, that has been proven and if Defoe is the best we can get Id be happy but I'm just not sure if he's still got it

Quite frankly I think we could have Rooney and Messi and still be unable to score, because our midfield has been our problem this season not our strikers. They can't score if they have a misfiring midfield...like the one we have

Certainly not. 64% pass success, not even close to good enough.
