I thought they'd improved but yesterday they played very negative, attritional football. Their fans were jeering United's possession play. They've obviously become programmed to expect a couple of passes between the centre halves followed by a punt upfield.

Tbf the Stoke fans wanted Pulis out as they didn't want that style of footy anymore. I watched the game yesterday and disagree with your assessment they played well, were very organised, direct at times yes but there was some good footy from them.

What game were you watching? <yikes>

All the good attacking came from Stoke you dimwit, you had "possession" and did nothing with it, when they got the ball they were direct and had plenty of joy, they looked far more effective going forward than your lot. They did try find crouch a lot, but he's 91 feet tall, who wouldn't try that? He should have bagged one too.

Attritional? I think you need to watch that game again lad. Maybe you can learn something from Stoke. They played to their strengths. Something you lot ain't learned to do under vG yet.

That was a very good performance from a team that has to use a limited squad over a busy schedule, probably why you managed to srape a draw actually

C'mon, what did you expect from Stoke, expansive pass and move football?
They defend disrupt and counter, they have to play that way, or get relegated. Leicester play nice football, they are bottom

Stoke did all the attacking <laugh>

They hoofed it constantly but that doesnt mean attacking. They also played a little but their biggest threat came from a massive punt to a 90foot striker.

Some peoples views on football are incredibly limited. I suppose Liverpool were the better side too (Paul Merson thinks so, he also beats his wife and drinks barrels of ale).

You sir are as we call in them in Ireland, an eejit.

I never said "Stoke did all of the attacking"

I said most of the good attacking came from Stoke, most of what you produced was ineffective. Stoke's attacks even when not producing a shot had your CBs scrambling and arguing amongst themselves. Jones having to make a last ditch header to cut out a cross for example, had he been doing his job he would have been in that position and not have to made such last ditch scrambling clearances.

You as usual take what someone posts and replace it with your own bollocks in order to make a false point because you got nothing, you leak out your arse about Liverpool and Paul Merson? instead of addressing what I posted<laugh>

I'd rather the manic depressive UIR from last season, the better United are doing the thicker you get :D

I retract the dimwit, unfortunately I lumped you in with UIR, that was uncalled for, sorry <laugh>

An Irishman calling someone an idiot <laugh>

There's something you don't see everyday.

Our attacking play was equally as effective. Seeing as we both scored a goal each. We each had just 2 on target.

It was a fairly even match. Not too much good about it from either side but hey, if some ABU wants to spout some more nonsense, to go with every other week, then go for it.

    Ahh UIR
Stoke 33% possession 11 shots on goal
Yoonited 66% possession 6 shots on goal.

That's all you need to know lad, that's enough evidence of who was attacking more effectively, twice as many shots on goal with half the possession. Statistically if Stoke had 66% possession they might have mamaged over 20 shots on goal and if United had 100% possession they may have managed 8 shots on goal <laugh>

    Stoke 9 shots off target
    United 4 shots off target.

It was a dire game. Stoke edged it as they are used to playing during a hurricane but there is no way you can claim anyone had any good attacking play.

Not sure if you have noticed with your limited football knowledge but we dont tend to pepper the goal with shots anymore. Its a more restrained build up. a case of biding our time and trying to avoid hoofing it into the box at every opportunity.

Typical van Gaal style really. Not sure I can get used to it entirely but I suppose it will be moren effective when we add some more pace.

It was a **** game to be honest with very little action in areas that matter. Stoke did have a few decent chances, but given the conditions it was always going to be tough, it's just that Stoke are used to it. Our defence seemed unsure whether the wind was going to take the ball through or hold up which further exacerbated the issues we are currently having at the back.

It's a tad unfair to say that we should be playing to our strengths when we are still on an unbeaten run, but accept that perhaps the performances haven't always been great. We desperately need to have some pace in our side and Di Maria's continued absence doesn't help. I don't think RVP and Falcao are an ideal partnership as they are both not quick enough, meaning we are reliant on intricate play which we seem to have problems with away from home.

I had a feeling averages would be over your head. 66% possession and 6 shots, add 33% to make it 99% possession and 33% of 6 is 2 meaning 8 shots average over 99% possession. <laugh> It's not a fact you wouldn't have scored from one, just that was your average shots to possession ratio for yesterday. Get over it lad, the maths ain't lying
