Where the sun never stops shining
Following the defeat today, it would seem that a play-off place is the best we can hope for. Far too many points dropped now to consider top 2 unless we can win all (except maybe 1 or 2) remaining games, with no further room for error.

I think we will end up in the top 6, maybe just, but that would be enough, but does anyone feel that we will fall short of that? Is a top 6 finish going to be too big an ask for NA, MP and Norwich now?
 
tbh Thai, I'll just be happy following the boys wherever they are, it's always sad when we lose but I'm a genuine fan, I'll follow them all the way to the Conference if that is our fate! <ok>

Given the strength of our squad and financial spend I (along with many others no doubt) would consider our objective this season to be promotion. This has been backed up by what DM, NA and the players have all said at various points since the pre-season.

At the start of the season automatic promotion was the goal but now it seems we will have to fight to reach the play-offs. I personally would say we will finish no higher than 4th and no lower than 7th. I am disappointed with regards to my expectations that were built up to the start of the season and much of my optimism has gone. I still think we will make the play-offs and we have every chance of getting promotion that way.

Crikey Dave, that's an odd response to the OP. We're all genuine fans, and I doubt thoughts of playing in the Conference has been on anyone's mind. We're not ColU Mike you know!
We are better than this, and so we should be based on the squad we have. Time to start showing it, and proving that the euphoria of the last couple of home games was not another false dawn.

Play offs could be a good day out and as we have just spent 3 years in the Prem we would be less desperate as others to get there again.
We are on a good financial footing and failing to go up won't put us out of business ,for teams that have spent 10 or 15 years outside the top division losing in the play offs would be heart breaking.

Sorry gandy, I suppose it's having followed the team for so long and felt the disappointments of relegation so often that it has struck me that our expectations for this season were a tad too high, we've had the bragging rights over our southern "chums" for, what, four years now? I'm just steadying myself for another term of disappointment. I wasn't calling anyone on here of not being a genuine fan, but many on Canary-Call and several on twitter prefer it when we lose so they can say, "Look, we were right all along!" It sickens me!

I'm only saying whatever happens, happens, they will still be MY team!
 
I think many fans expectations of instant promotion
was way off the mark.
Play offs were going to be the best IMO and I would
love it, love it (KK there) if we got the Binners at
Wembley in the play off final.

A good day out in May would suit me just fine.<cheers><cheers>

66 points up for grabs ler's not get the white flag out just yet.
We are playing attractive high scoring football at home so if we continue doing that we will be fine , other than Boro away we have only lost by a single goal so my cup is half full of optimism.
The other relegated sides Fulhan and Cardiff are our benchmarks and have millionaire owners and we are doing better than them.
 
No white flag yet, and I think a play off place is perfectly possible, don't care who it would be against. As for an automatic place, yep it is still possible, but increasingly unlikely. Maybe the unbeaten run to the end of the season will start with an emphatic win at Bournemouth!!
I remain very unconvinced by NA, and do fear that we will be cut adrift from the Premiership for many years if promotion is not achieved this season.

Fair enough Dave. I know what you mean about people like that. I remember sitting in front of two blokes ages ago, and one said we looked like losing, with the other replying that he hoped we did! Presumably to make the Manager's job untenable. Who in their right mind wants their team to lose?

That was back in the 'Worthy' days, and I've heard and seen similar quotes many times since. Madness!

In a division where anyone can beat anyone on the day, except maybe poor old Blackpool (at ease Jacob), there is no telling as to where we will end up. We have a squad good enough for the autos but don't seem to be able to put it all together consistently enough (a la Bournemouth) to challenge for the top 2, so the quest must be to secure a play-off place. I think we can certainly do that - the number 5 keeps flashing up for some reason - 5th maybe ?

Just posted something similar on another thread but feel the play-offs look a decent bet, automatics look unlikely but not out of the question yet. There will not be a lot in it at the end of the season and a point or two could make all the difference. Ipswich have done really well to date and must be due a hick-up soon, Forest began like hares (much like us) and have dropped alarmingly. Boro and Derby look solid if unspectacular while Brentford and Bournemouth have been surprise packages. The current top 10 could all figure in the top 6 come the end, don't rule anybody out just yet.
 
Brentford are beginning to fade a bit now, but the key question is how long Bournemouth can continue this form? If they can, then they deserve it certainly. Beating them is a must if we are to retein any change of automatic promotion.
 
Anything other than promotion this season will be absolute failure considering the squad that we have retained. If we don't go up heads should roll starting at the very top ( I think you know who I mean).

McNally and the heads put in a 5 year plan that included relegation , we are financially solvent and equipped to plunder teams at the top in January or in the summer if needed .
The prem is all about money and we had 3 large helpings of Sky money cake .
If Ruddy and Redmond go then we will make a large profit again .
The Championship is not easy but we will go up this year or next ,how could you justify sacking McNally or force out Delia ?.
Dissapointed so far but I'm realistic enough not to expect success every year this isn't Scotland.
Leeds have gone through so managers this year with a rich foreign investor and I certainly wouldn't want to go down that road.
