This is going to sound like a really petty criticism of a player who's been largely excellent for us, but what the hell is wrong with his distribution?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting that we get rid of him, drop him or even give any of it too much thought, but it's fairly frustrating to watch someone whose overall game is of such a high standard taking such poor kicks.

Michel Vorm had a rare runout against Newcastle in the League Cup recently and the difference was quite startling.
I've got so used to seeing the ball wasted by the keeper that I almost forgot how it can become a potent weapon to have one who's good at starting breaks and picking out a frontman.

It's nice to have the various options that we've got between the posts, including our highly experienced third choice Brad Friedel, so I'm not going to make too much of an issue of it.
Might be an idea to get a little work done on it in training if we ever have a little bit of a break, though.
We haven't had many of them, to be fair.

I dunno. I almost despair when i see him lining up for anything other than a short pass to the fullbacks or the parted centre backs (as they tend to do when we recover possession under Poch).

Could be worse, De Gea, very good keeper, can't kick a ball to save is life.
Most keepers have poor distribution, Lloris is nowhere near the worst I've seen. Want to see bad, look at Mingolet, awful awful distribution, really pathetic.

True, and Mignolet can't command an area either, so doubly right.

He commanded his area effectively in only one game I can remember. Against Real madrid away, but we got owned by them so it made little difference<laugh>

How can you find fault with Lloris for heaven sake.Lord,he's making incredible saves with a dodgy defence in front of him.
he doesn't have a lot of power in his kicking (just like Bill Brown) and I thought his distribution was pretty good.
He'd be unbeatable if he had a solid defence in front of him!!!!!
We are very fortunate that we have him and Arsenal(that French team!) and Chelsea, don't!

    Lloris kicks like Gomes.

They both kind of take a big swing at the ball but they hit it side-footed, so not only does it not have much power but it's also very inaccurate for the most part. If you watch Vorm, unless he's playing a short pass, he puts his laces right through it, as did Robbo and I'm sure many others out there do.

Weird... Maybe it'll put off Real/ Barca/ Bayern etc for considering a future bid :D

Craziest kicking I've ever seen was Federici (Reading) when he was at Southend on loan. He'd kick the ball while it was to the side of him at waist height and it would barely go higher than head height. 9/10 it would land at the strikers feet. Was remarkable.
The other remarkable thing was the 1/10 when it would hit the defender/opposition striker in the back of the head as they were running back. Think we conceded 3 times in 6 months because of it.

Vorms kicking yesterday was atrocious - he must have been getting lessons off Lloris
