Definite Finchley Gooner right there <laugh>

We need to get in Klope ok ...ok yaaah <ok>

If Harry Kane isn't in the next England squad there is something wrong. All that money Spuds have spent on trying to find a striker and they had what they needed all along. All those failed strikers have really helped Kane, given him the time to develop and then take his chance.

I look forward to seeing both of your theories on this.

FFS you really want to go into this <doh>

A penalty consists of numerous factors.. skill in striking a football, reactions and size of the keeper, ability to handle pressure... none of those make it a 50/50 chance.

If it's 50/50 you'd expect 50% of the penalties taken to have been missed while 50% to be scored. in fact, by your logic, it would only be a 33% chance of scoring.

33% of scoring, 33% of putting it high/wide and 33% of keeper saving it.

Annoyingly he is doing alright, but he is the same as Berahino. He will need to keep it up all season.

Not really. It seems you do though seeing as you clearly know more than the many, many people who have tried to explain this using their own theories.

Me, I prefer the fact that before the ball is kicked (ie, the ball is dead) there are two possible outcomes. Score. Dont score.

Once the ball is back in play (ie, the taker strikes the ball) all kinds of things impact on the final result. Which way does the player strike the ball, does he hit it cleanly, did the keeper move in advance of the strike, did the keeper step forward off his line, which was did the keeper dive. These can vary the odds both in favour of the striker (as much as 100%) as well as in favour of the keeper (also 100%).

So be my guest. Knock yourself out.

Next, lets do 50/50 challenges. We'll have loads of fun.

So I have a 50/50 chance of winning the lottery... I either win or I don't.

Chelsea have a 50/50 chance of winning the league, they either do or they don't?

Yu have a 50/50 chance of running the 100m in 7seconds.. you either do or you don't <ok>

There are 2 possible outcomes, but the chances of them happening aren't the same thing <doh> That' the whole point of probability.

Well none of these are one on one situations so have absolutely no relevance to this at all. Nice try though.

Still waiting for your theory. Theres 100's out there btw, all different. Why not add yours?

I really dont care. You clearly do. Penalties are not something I put much thought into beyond the scoring and not scoring element.

Looking forward to the 50/50 challenge discussion. Will have to be tomorrow though as I am off to bed.

How the **** did Hull not get that penalty

So so easy decision

Refs are total ****e, sack the ****ing lot of them and start again

They really have been magnificently **** this season. The quality appears to have gone downhill in the prem.

When the quality of the actual teams is so low, don't think we can maon at refs.

They just don't want to show up 90% of the teams in the league <whistle>
