A player that has split opinions through the support. I've made no secret that I'm a big fan and feel he should stay at Portman Road.
The biggest issue he had was that he was clearly a panic buy. He offers nothing that Roy Keane looked for in a player: Hard work, Determination, Consistency. and it soon became clear Keane didn't have space for a 'Luxury' player in the team.
I think it says a lot that in two seasons his loan clubs were QPR and Swansea. Two of the best 'footballing' teams in our division, Which leads me to the crux of the issue, with us playing a more direct style of play (Long ball) regularly, Tamas was unable to impact a match. He isn't the quickest and he certainly doesn't cope well with passes over his head or into his chest as last season proves But with the ball on the floor he has some great touches (which none of our other strikers have had) and has shown he has an eye for a pass.
I think given some games he could still be very useful for us. I can't think of many better 3rd or 4th choice strikers in this division, he has scored some good goals in his career (Not a massive amount and certainly not many for us) but I think he has a lot of potential. And I think most importantly the lad is still only 24.
If it were a choice between Scotland and Priskin I'd be disappointed to see us lose Priskin because I feel he would go elsewhere and do a decent job.
 
Agreed. Ellington and Scotland are a like for like. Rocky is more similar to Tamas in terms of style of play but Tamas lacks the penalty area prowess.

I do like the idea of Ellington up top with Tamas one side and Chopra the other. I hope we go for 433 or at least 442 when we line up. Any more of this 451 dogshit I will do my nut.

Scotland has done okay but at 32 he's only going to get slower. Thanks for your efforts (top scorer 10/11) but we need more mobility, less hoofability and a shed load more goals.

I still think we should sign Maynard £4m, no messing
 
I'm a Priskin fan and do believe there is much more in his locker than we have seen and you're right; Roy Keane's approach did not suit his skills nor style at all (did they suit anyone's???). If it came to a choice between keeping him or Scotland for me its an easy one - goodbye Jason!
 
Flashes of ability but really poor work ethic let him down last season - too lazy. If he gave 100% I'd be interested to see how good (or bad) he really is.
 
Hes a frustrating player, but one i'd like to see remain in the team.

A quick unthoughout thought, could it be possible that he could fulfill that creative midfielder role, he might not be busy enough really suit midfield but as long as we have some workers behind him he could be a good linkup player for the strikers...
 
Priskin’s problem is between the ear’oles.

He has everything to be an excellent striker, but 95% of the time behaves like a scared little wimp; not attacking space, not challenging nasty, mean defenders; rarely making himself available in the penalty area. Back in the dark days of Keano’s reign we’d have scored a lot more goals with pretty much anyone else in the side, as ball after ball was put into dangerous areas with nobody but defenders to deal with it: Priskin wimping around outside the area hoping nobody would notice him.

Then, on the days when he’s really up for it, he looks brilliant.

Loathe though I am to generalise (expect about Norwich 606ers), I lived in Hungary for a while teaching English to the natives and they are an introverted, miserable lot (second highest suicide rate in the world) that can take a lot of coaxing to bring them out of themselves and contribute. I’d secretly celebrate when my class had a few Chinese immigrants, Romanians or whatever, as the chances were that it would be so much easier to get everything going.

If Priskin fits this character, which his on-field behaviour suggests, it needs PJ to exercise all the man management skills he has to get him performing consistently.

If Jewell cannot do this then Priskin will be what he is 95% of the time – a total waste of space.
 
On his game, and when he wants to work he is a top top striker! (Arsenal game at home, is the only game that comes to mind) That was the first time I had seen him work for the full 90 minutes and the Arsenal defence couldn't handle him. If he could get that fired up every game, he will be one of the best strikers in the championship...but at this moment in time I can't see it from him!

Straightforward really, it's called the Scotland way. Stay relatively still 10 yards inside our half whilst everything else goes on around you. Some seconds after the ball is hoofed forward, start a steady jog in a direction roughly adjacent to that of the ball - slowly building up to a snails pace. Discover ball has been lost and return to halfway line*. Repeat as above.

*in the event that you find yourself close to the ball at any time, this step may be replaced by merely using your foot, chest, knee or right buttock to simply knock it far enough away from you that it is lost to the opposition.
 
I do really rate Tamas and don't think he's been given a fair crack of the whip yet. Keane obviously spent way too much on him and built up unfair expectation, then when he didn't live up to it dropped him quicker than a hot spud. Like has already been mentioned, on his day he is unplayable for defences - i think its ironic that his best game for us was against arsenal and it could even be that he's one of these players that would be more suited to the prem than the championship? He seems to like having a bit of space to take his time in and champ defences don't allow you that - as opposed to the likes of arsenal that hold a more rigid shape and let you do your thing. Him and chopra/ellington i think would be a great pairing and he really could come into his own this season given the game time. He is one of these players that needs a run in the side in my opinion, he's not an impact player that you can call upon for 5mins a game or one game every few months.
 
I have to say during that game... no not *that* one, the one at our place, he was your best player. Up until the point that Keano subbed him off anyway! He scored against us too for Swansea, what more could you want?

If he had scored with half the shots that he hit the Post/Cross Bar with, he would have had a half decent season.

I think he's worth sticking with.
 
I think Priskin is talented enough, and maybe under a regime where there is more importance on passing and the like, he could be more prolific. I also think we'd all agree that we'd rather see Priskin coming on to run at defenders than Scotland to slowly amble for a minute before stopping all together.
But this would have to be his last chance, as he has still done pretty much bugger all!
 
We need a striker who will hit the back of the net regularly, do you really, hand on heart think priskin is that striker? Maybe he could with better service, I don't rate him at all, but can't properly judge any player who was forced to play clueless keanes way. A good season ahead though I think!
