I'm assuming A4L is AWOL. Charlton are at the crossroads, which Charlton will turn up, the rabble from the first half or the warriors from the second half of the Cardiff game? Will Solly be risked? Will Bob try 3-5-2? Or will Caution prevail again? Now we know how they can play it's over to you, Bob.
Your a lil too early FHB... Was just coming to upload my Ipswich Preview now seeing I'd been away till this morning Anyway my line-up prediction for this match: Etheridge Solly - Ben-Haim - Bikey - Gomez Gudmundsson - Buyens - Jackson - Cousins Vetokele - Tucudean Based on our performance against Ipswich at the Valley I reckon we could cause an upset and despite the fact that Ipswich havent lost at home since August (in the East Anglia Derby against Norwich). teams do eventually have to lose at some stage, we found that out when we won League One a few years ago. My prediction... Ipswich Town 0-1 Charlton Athletic
Apologies, A4L. Feel free to do a proper thread. I'm about to go out for the evening so will catch up later.
So Team is... Etheridge Ben-Haim - Bikey - Onyewu Solly - Buyens - Gudmundsson - Jackson - Cousins Vetokele - Tucudean Bench... Pope - Wilson - Gomez - Bulot - Fox - Pigott - Ahearne-Grant
Can't see us getting anything here. It'll be interesting to see how 3-5-2 does. I'm off out too so no updates from me.
Liking the fact it might be 3-5-2. This will hopefully enable JBG and Tucudean to stretch the defense and allow igor more space (in what I hope will be goal scoring positions). I'm thinking a spirited defeat, but with positives. 2-1 (igor)
Coming back from a freezing cold Portman Road. Familiar story we are powder puff. Now we are shipping goals we are going to be heading downwards quicker than Jordan's knickers. I wasn't going to go to this game but I decided to after the second half against Cardiff. I wish I hadn't bothered. Well done to the 1000 diehards. I am starting to get pissed off with Peeters and his tinkering. I think I will make it the last away trip this Season. RD WE NEED SOME NEW PLAYERS.Perhaps a new Manager as well.
As Dick says, our support was immense tonight. The team's performance - other than the first three minutes - was woeful. Etheridge 5 - Gomez 2 - truly awful Bikey 7 - too good for us Ben Haim 7 - ditto Bikey Solly 6 - tried hard Cousins 3 - couldn't be bothered after first goal went in Jackson 4 - legs have deserted him Buyens 4 - simply not good enough Gudmundsson 5 Tucudean 2 - needs to **** off Vetokele - 4 Bulot - stealing a living from our club Ipswich were no great shakes but they didn't need to be against such powder-puff opposition. The munchkin-esque Jay Tabb bossed the match. Best entertainment of the night was the banter between our fans and the Ipswich supporter and his 'wife'.
The w*nker with the scarf. Really disappointing night, we looked lively for 15 mins after ht...then they made it 2-0. Could have been different if Onyewu stayed fit, Gomez was really poor. Ben Haim and Bikey solid. BP has to realise Cousins at left mid doesn't work.
Why should BP realise Cousins on the left does'nt work. It was an ongoing thing with CP, and I'm sure when Cousins retires at age 35, we'll still be arguing about what sort of player he could have been played in his correct position. That apart, this was pretty much what I feared might occur. 3-0 is a crap result, and I don't care if the opposition are top or bottom. It does sound like we gave it a go, though it sounds like it took an Ipswich goal to make is go looking for one.. This time, Tuc had a bad one. Against Cardiff, he was okay. The fact is we need fresh faces. If Watt is already training, I'm sure he'll play next match, but we need more, and as we continue to slide, it'll need much more.
We weren't taking you lightly especially after the hard fought win at your place! To be honest we could have had a lot more if Dids hadn't smacked the woodwork a couple of times. We aren't spectacular but we have huge momentum and we know how to win even when we don't play well. I thought Peeters comments after the game showed him up to be bitter which is unfortunate and is to be expected after his graceless comments made after the last encounter.
We will be the first to admit that BP doesn't paint the club in a good light with his post match comments. He's a guy under a considerable amount of pressure now. Then RD will be too pig headed to realise he hadn't helped BP either.
