Wanted to do a Match Thread without all the boring who played for Chelsea and Spurs in 1799 & 1824 so here we go!
Well here we are again, this fixture was for long periods known as 'The Turkey Shoot at Three Point Lane' but the Spuds have spent Gazillions of pounds trying to break into the top four and whereas some of the players they have bought in have improved them.
This is by no means a forgone conclusion and they are bound to fight us all the way in what could be seen as a league cup final rehearsal should they overcome the mighty Sheffield United and us Liverpool. So far Mauricio Pinocchio has done a reasonable job in turning them into Southampton and probably needs to sign just one or two more of their players for the transition to take place.
When a team with big players fails to achieve any kind of notable success, those players start to attract the attentions of bigger clubs. The likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United have been drawn to Spurs in recent years like sharks circling their prey, as Michael Carrick, Dimitar Berbatov, Luka Modric and Gareth Bale have all moved onto bigger things after shining in a comparatively poor Spurs side.
The same will happen with the likes of Hugo Lloris and Christian Eriksen if Spurs don’t improve soon. Indeed, Jan Vertonghen is already rumoured to be leaving in January and that’s the kind of thing Spurs must avoid. They need to keep their best players and build around them if they want to achieve success.
There has already been interest in Mauricio Pinocchio from Brasil after they had recieved threats from North Korea that the 'Jesus of Rio' is to be stolen.
a Brazil spokesperson said "seeing Mauricio perform and Daniel Levy's penchant for selling just about anything of worth warrants us to put in a bid."
Daniel Levy (below) said I am somewhat surprised and of course refuse to sell at all costs until the right figures are mentioned.
Daniel Levy
Anyway I digress, back to the football.
Players in form for this match are Michael Kane & Hans Christen Erikson for Spurs and Costa & Hazard for Chelsea in what promises to be the match of the day this should be a ding dong affair with goals in, hopefully all in the Spurs net. Looking forward to this and my prediction is that Chelsea will win by the odd goal in three.
