Better get a move on if you intend to go to the Cup match v Ipswich. 28K already sold (including 5.5K away fans). Expected to be a sell out. I love having these games so close together....if we win against Arsenal we will be flying; if we lose, we have a quick chance to make it right. Ipswich have a chance to close gap on Bournemouth...so strong opposition.

I have to say that I love the 3rd round of the cup. It's always disappointing if we are away as it is difficult to find the time to travel. When I was small, the cups ties always seemed more popular than the league games and it is a shame that the FC Cup doesn't quite have the appeal that it one did. I love the fact that we could be playing unfamiliar teams. Granted that some of the lower league clubs might not be as glamorous or technically proficient, it is great watching sides that are unfamiliar and who will raise their game on the premise of being that round's cup surprise.

It is a shame Portsmouth exited so early. I would have loved a local derby, especially as the fortunes of the two clubs are so contrasting. An encounter at this point in time, especially at St. Marys, would surely have had the potential for a rugby score in our favour. As it is, I can't see Ipswich being soft opposition and I look forward to a hard-fought match with us progressing in to the next round, especially after the disappointment of Sunderland last season where we squandered our chance to progress further.

****! I was planning on going to this. Wasn't expecting it to sell out. Better get a move on...

My first game of the season! Bottled going to Sunderland at home because I thought it would be a boring 0-0...

@SouthamptonFC: General tickets for Sunday's [HASHTAG]#FACup[/HASHTAG] tie against @Official_ITFC have now SOLD OUT. Thanks for your incredible support once again. [HASHTAG]#saintsfc[/HASHTAG]

Well done everybody :) a full house...

Does anyone know who the Match Officials are? I have tried to find out but keep going around in circles without finding the right site! The FA site says the Officials have not been changed, but doesn't appear to say who they are?

Should be a good game. We will need to be careful...a very good Championship side who are up for it. Ron knows he has to put out a strong side, however tempted he is to rest some players.

I was thinking along the same lines, but it occurred to me that Ipswich may consider that maintaining a top-two Championship position is more important than a cup run, so Ipswich may not field their strongest side, either.
This may be a match where a matchday programme is essential, to try to put faces to the squad numbers, on both sides:azn:
