Whether or not Palace and WBA get a long term benefit from changing managers is obviously questionable, but wouldn't be surprising if they get the short term 'new manager bounce' and at end of season that could be enough to keep them up. I often think owners change managers around this time of year for exactly that reason. I personally hope we keep SB but slightly concerned that the new manager bounce could work against us. Of course , it does sometimes work the other way but hard to believe that WBA won't get a nudge in form , just in time for January 10th.
Hard to think both West Brom and Crystal Palace won't get an improvement in form which is very dangerous for us. Can't see anyone else but Bruce being the new Newcastle manager. Therefore leaving Tim Sherwood as one of the only credible replacements.
I've been musing that in WBA's case the appointment of such a low profile unsuccessful Championship manager was part of a wider plan to take advantage of the 'new manager' syndrome - looking very much like Pulis. Irvine was toast the day Pulis left Palace.
Hoddle would be great but I think it's unrealistic, if he was to come this far north itd have to be a bigger club than us.....hope I'm wrong
