A lot of people seem to point the finger at Cellino and want to blame him, imo it's got nothing to do with Cellino.
He brought the players in and got rid of the deadwood, or most of it up to now and we've seen these players play a brilliant game of football against Derby where everything seemed to click and the whole team played for each other, we've also seen Redders get 3 wins and 1 draw during his temp role; question is, what's gone wrong since Redders took over full time.
My first worry when Redders took over was his academy players being his favourites, or the undroppables as I now call'em, with the exception of Mowatt getting subbed against Wigan; I come over all funny when Redders did that, most unexpected. Cook it seems can do no wrong in Redders eyes even though he doesn't play with the same impact as he did when he first started, he's come back to the fold so to speak. Byram is still not up to the standard as he was when he first started and seems to run hot and cold, granted it's a bit more hot than cold.
Pearce shouldn't be in side, he's a weak link and a liability, but Redders still calls on him. Sharp is not up to scratch or has not got the pace any more, but Redders has called upon him yet again. Morison, the wandering nomad just does not fit in imo, but Redders calls on him from time to time and neither Sharp or Morison have taken their opportunities by the scruff of the neck.
Redders talks about youth and giving them a chance, but he talks about his academy youths and not Monty or Del Fabro who I believe should be given their opportunities ahead of the academy boys, especially Monty as he seems to be a natural goal scorer, but to bring Monty on would mean sacrificing either Mowatt or Cook as Monty can play as an attacking mid or an out and out striker. Cook is not an attacking mid and Mowatt has lost some of his shine, neither seem to be playmakers in front of goal like Adryan. There's no doubt they both have talent, but lack experience. Redders seems to favour subbing Bianchi or Adryan rather than Mowatt or Cook.
My second worry was Redders subbing abilities, let's be honest, they're no different to Darkos or the Hocks, with the exception that Redders leaves his academy boys on.
The Wigan game was crying out for a playmaker, but Redders chose to drop Adryan, bad move imo, and Cook did not rise to the role, he had a bad game against Wigan. Berardi should come back into side and Byram tried in Cooks position; Berardi has had few scored against down his side when playing but, Byram seems to be targeted more by opposing teams on the attack, and many a winger are getting past him.
I think imo, in the back of Redders mind he fears his academy boys will be upstaged by other players which makes him reluctant to replace or sub them.
This is Redders first 1st team appointment, but I fear he still has his heart in the academy, which is being detrimental to team; I also suspect not everything is hunky dory in dressing room, there may be a bug in there. Redders needs to realise fast that he runs the 1st team now and not the academy; or the fans will begin to question his abilities, if they aren't already.
