I have commented several times that I was yet to be convinced Charlie could really cut it in the PL so it's only right that I eat a large slice of humble pie after his performance yesterday. Not just the goals, it was a great all round display where he influenced the game like I have not seen from him before. He is the real deal.

Can't remember if I posted that ever but I certainly wondered at the start of the season. VERY happy to share your humble pie.

I don't think there's any danger of him going in January. It could be a different story at the end of the season though.

Why?
He has turned down our latest contract offer and Liverpool are desperate for a centre forward.

I'd love to think that Charlie would be loyal for the rest of the season, but footballers aren't renowned for it.

Would be suicide for you boys to sell in Jan. We'll have him off you in the Summer though. <cheers>

When does his contract expire?

We wouldn't have to let him go, even if he wanted to. It would be madness. It will be resolved in the summer one way or another imo. If we go down, he's gone. If we stay up he might sign a new contract.

Somebody was muttering about Newcastle being after him as we we queuing to get out of the Loft yesterday.

Why would he go to Liverpool. Last year was a one off driven by rat boy, now back to their mediocre selves.

There would be a bigger danger if there was interest from one of the Champion League contenders.

Arsenal, probably not. He is too English for Wenger.
Chelsea - no already awash with top class strikers
Man C - no, same as Chelsea
Man U - possibly, especially if they invoke their sale or return on megga flop Falcao

However, I think he will stay and sign a new contract about Easter time if it looks like we are safe.

If he continues in the same vein for the rest of the season I don't think there's any chance that he'll be here next season, whether we stay up or not. I'd obviously love him to stay, but I'd be amazed if he did.
