There is a thread on the Newcastle Board which shows how many points PL teams have won in each month in calendar year 2014. So far, after 11 months and 20 days, it shows that Hull have won 25 points. That return is relegation form.
You go up against an Arsenal, Liverpool or Chelsea you don't expect to get anything. Your a good team, but your one of those that we need to aim to get 3 points. Plus we were at home.
With all due respect we do expect something, if not all three points we expect the opposition to come away thinking they had to fight hard and play their best football to get what they got as a reward. It works. We take the game to all clubs no matter who they are. Except West Ham, I don't know what the heck happens against them. We just implode into League Two football against that club for whatever reason. We've beaten every one of the Top 5 teams since we got promoted and yet we play like we are blindfolded against those cockney bastards!
with each game our passing is getting worse , there are flashes of play , but literally everytime a ball from midfield is worked to our front "two" its either cut out or or its well over hit . Who is to blame ? ?? All players have a particular ability and the manager is supposed to make a purchase on their knowledge of that ability and utilise said player to do a job suited to them . with each week that passes i struggle more and more to see what SB is trying to do , by that i mean regardless of how a particular player played/underperformed , i dont get anymore what Bruces is trying to do :/ I want him to get it right and im far from being an "i told you so" but is there anyone here who thinks reverting to a back 4 with Elmo as a RB is a plan ? ostracizing Brady ? playing shove ha'penny with our centre backs ? urgh all that money and promise on Abel Hernandez and for what end product since his early flourish ? a Poodle ? i prefer to call a poodle someone who blindly follows the "boss" whatever , Our Manager needs to pull his finger out and stop blaming the players , they are what they are .
We are like that with Burnley, nearly always lose. I get what yis sat about beating the big teams, but your squad play as a team and has some star players.
I just can't see how SB can make many changes that will make a big difference, the full first choice midfield will be missing again at Sunderland, Dawson and may be Davies two first choice centre backs yes we can bring Quinny, Aluko, Brady and may be rosy in but i am not optimistic we will get anything there either. Its a crucial time to get all these injuries
Saw this and thought of some of you ................. pssssttt ........ you know who you are eh Lunchy ?
So McShane is training with the juniors and Bruce Jr is starting and Maguire is coming off the bench ? McShane is probably one of our least talented players but in a relegation battle you want him there I don't see a plan b when things aren't working either Also can we get somebody who can take a set piece and beat the first man ? If we can't score from open play we need to take advantage of set pieces
Don't quite understand this, as you say Mcshane is one of our least talented players so why on earth would you want him in the team?
The fact is we don't have the players. However, Meyler should be no where near the team. That article last week about him being the 'heart' of city or some tosh was a joke. I'm not one to slag off players but he has less determination than someone with M.E. I would have Quinn over him every day of the week. Brady should be on to inject some sort of energy to the team and the grit that Mcshane shows should push him in front of Bruce. Yes we miss Diame but we just can't score.
Here, take a look at this thread. http://www.readytogo.net/smb/thread...in-2006-according-to-kenny-cunningham.627465/ Please bear in mind that it was posted in 2011, the year of the 'Great demise' of Steve Bruce at SAFC. The article was written by a professional footballer, describing the relegation of Birmingham City in 2006. (Under Steve Bruce)
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/hull-boss-steve-bruce-puts-4842256 if he was any good, he wouldn't have to continually justify playing him - Brucie got pissed off with the reporter on RH for asking about Macca
I dont quite understand us fans turning on each other and calling each other fickle. To me it is glaringly obvious that the team aren't even playing for the manager anymore. something has to change. Just how much longer can AA let SB ruin his legacy for?
What I carnt get my head around is up until the burnley game we was going along nicely, picking up good points at arsenal and Liverpool and averaging 2 goals per game. So what happened leading up to the burnley game because I'm struggling to believe just because we got beat by burnley things have gone so badly surley that one defeat carnt have brought us to the point now were no one even looks like they want the ball. Have I got it wrong and the burnley game ****ed us or is there more to it like SB has lost the dressing room because it's starting to look that way
I think either AA had to make the change after the next four games depending on results or leave bruce till the end of the season. What if there is something in all this talk about the club been sold this would have a bearing on AA decision
I don't believe Bruce has lost the dressing room at all. The effort i still there, but it really just isn't happening in the final third. I can only think of two changes yesterday. Robertson hitting the cross bar and Jelavics header.
