Games I think we are just looking at getting 3 points for the next handful of months. There are 21 points from games we will clearly be looking at getting wins from just to the end of march. Not that we will end up getting wins in all of them but those have to be the ones we are looking at getting wins from.

December
Sunderland away
Leicester home

January
West Brom away

February
QPR home
Stoke away

March
Sunderland home
Leicster away

So you have 21 points there - We couldn't beat West Brom at home, but you expect us to beat them away in less than month - and even if I agree with you, and we take all of those points - that puts us on 34 points. We have only one home game in April - against Liverpool, and Arsenal, Spurs and Man Utd in May - only Burnley at home looking doable.

37 points?? That's all we would have, and your selection is fairly optimistic. Is that enough to stay up? I would hope so. Hand on heart - do you really see all of them going our way? I wish I did.

I don't want to get on a Bruce out bandwagon - he's done brilliantly for the club, and given us some great memories. But today, there were no tactics on the pitch, once we go a goal down, the heads drop, and nothing he says gets through to the players. It was the same in other games this season. Has he lost the dressing room?

Something has to give - and time is running out for Bruce to pull a rabbit out of a hat. We are 4pts worse off than we were in 2009 at this stage.

Would you give him till march then? Could be leaving it late like if you don't get the results. I get what you're saying about calls to sack him today. But you have to admit it's starting to get to the point where he'll be getting a target to keep his job before the club need to bring in someone to save him. Brucie has had fierce support from you lads(you're all a credit to him) but what's happening now is natural, people are changing their opinions and it seems to be based on performances as much as results. Brucie will be starting to sweat no doubt. Hand full of wins and the heats off though.

Yes I really do get calls to sack him. I do not find the opinion that he needs to go absurd, not in the least. Plenty of people have good reasons they want to see him go.

I personally do not think he is the person to lead us forward. I appreciate his work and what he has done. I think he is the type of person who could keep us in the bottom of the league. Which based off our history is still quite an accomplishment.

In general I believe in loyalty to players who wear your kit/jersey and managers/coaches who lead your club/team. I would never fire anyone who signed a contract committing themselves to a club I support. I would not necessarily resign them but I respect anyone who makes the choice to play for a club I support more than just respect I am more like proud of that commitment.

I think that at the end of this year I would let his contract run out and thank him for his service to us. I might actually let him stay on if I was the owner and we were going to be relegated but to appease the fan base I would probably let him go.

Bruce in.

A few of the players need a ****ing hot iron to the face at the moment.

Wake the **** up.

Bruce in. Empower him.

U
the team are just lacklustre, passionles, as clinical as a wet sponge

terrible team setups, terrible substitutions

the 2014 league record is atrocious, 2 wins in 17 this season

two home games people said wins were vital, 1 point due to a mcgregor penalty saved

one league home win since april

what other manager would stay in the job?

he's had enough time and cash

if we want to stay up, he needs replacing while we are in with a fighting chance still

thanks for all you've done, but nothing last forever

bruce out

Did you leave early?

One of the most ridiculous posts I have ever read!!!
Someone if failing badly in the job you pay him very handsomely to do but out of loyalty you let him fail even longer to the detriment of our football club, bizarre!!!

No I dont expect us to get 21 points there. Just that those are the games that I think we are realistically looking at getting 3 points from. Clearly we will win some lose some and draw some. We will probably also get some draws and possibly a couple wins from other games as well.

Its going to be hard on us for sure, the end of the season is going to be really hard. Its not just us though others at the bottom also have hard schedules. I really do see us staying up. I did the math on the teams around us and I see us finishing out of the bottom 3, I think a number much closer to 34 keeps us up. Of course if we finish December with anything less that 3 points and well, I probably wont see us staying up then.

May I recommend you all buy a few bottles of ruby ale, accompanied by a nice Shiraz, and basically sit in getting sloshed on it trying to forget the game today?

Like me!

Yum yum.

Agreed. I've just opened a nice Malbec and I'm considering ordering a takeaway ruby for my tea.

Life ain't so bad,

The point is - I think a decision needs to be made now.

If it's Bruce out - give a new guy a chance to make a difference - fair enough.

But if it's Bruce in - then that's it - no changes after January. He should see the season out. Getting rid of Brown in March didn't work, neither did sacking Hughton at Norwich. Poyet survived his rough patch at Sunderland, and it was clearly the right thing in the End, but he could quite easily have gone when they were looking over their shoulders.

If there was ever a time to stick or twist - we are fast approaching it, if not already at it. Either decision is fine - but we've got to stick with it.

That was my recommendation a few months ago. He's has done well for you but you need to move him on at the end of the season, or earlier if he looks like taking you down imo. I'd be surprised if you offered him a new contract. Ultimately your squad is good enough to stay up, it's big and plenty of quality in there. I know you've had injuries but so has everyone. It's up to Brucie to get them playing well and picking up points init.
