Are the wheels coming off. Have the wheels falling off. Do you think the wheels are firmly on. Gotta say the last three games have been hard work, two teams in the cups that should have been straight forward,we struggled big time to beat them, then bottom of the table today beat us. Gotta say promotion sides do not loose to bottom of the league sides, that is not acceptable. Wibbly, wobbly moments at the moment.
We are running out of steam is my opinion. Swindon lost but the away masters PNE and the team of loanees (MKD) both won...the latter convincingly. Juniors gang have conceded 11 goals in 2 games and haven't scored. We were lucky to beat them 1-0. Today was a nailed on away win and we've come up very short. No excuses, but FFS SC lets bring a couple of new faces in during January to give a good kick up the arse to the rest of the team. I don't want to see another promising season fade away.
I think we need a striker if were to continue top one who will put these chances away were not taking, conceding less but need to be scoring at the other end....... I dont rate agard based on last half dozen games or so need a sorting....running around sbucherà i dont think hes to Good at that either and aint gunna win us games......
Elliott went off after 31 mins- The 3 games we have lost all involved his absence for most of the game-I wonder if there is any co-incidence there? There is only 1 point separating the top 4 now- MK Dons look strong as do Swindon and Preston despite the former losing somewhat unexpectedly today. I believe that we lost away to Crewe 1-0 last year as well. Just wonder if a bit of complacency was present?
Agree think we are to predictable, and teams are dealing with us. My take on what i am seeing if wilbs, and elliott, are not on top of their games we struggle.
absolutely, other teams are now figuring us out. We have had at least 4 or 5 lucky wins at home and we need a goal scorer. Agard is not the answer. Hands in pockets time in January Steve
It's very common for the bottom side to beat the top. It happens in every league every year. We are top of the table, the wheels haven't come off, we're having our best season for the best part of 60 years. Lose a game and people panic....
Sorry Gotta disagree here, that just does not happen, top v bottom should be a formality home or away. We need a top goal scorer agard is not putting it in the net, wilbs has been the lone ranger, yes he is 35 but has been running around like a 25 year old,he needs help,Matt Smith may become better with game time, but he is not a goal scorer.
Top Vs Bottom never goes the way people would think though, bottom teams always pull up a surprise. And we are top of the league at Christmas, we were bottom last year.
The big advantage we have over Swindon and MK is a rich sponsor so much depends on what SL decides. He has always backed his managers in the past. I suspect Jay will leave along with two others to fund incoming talent. SC has done well so far but the goals are drying up and our position has come about mainly through a lack of injuries and a degree of good luck of which we have had more than our share this year
I can predict a "Cotts out" thread soon. It's lot more common than you think RR that bottom clubs beat top, think off Southampton a few seasons ago against struggling club that beat them home and away. Think we was long odds at home to them but when we beat them on New Years eve at their place, we was the only team to win there in that year.
We have a fantastic chance to get out of the league next year,SL will need to allow three quality signings to come in next month,we need to get out of this leauge two seasons are enough. It won't get any easier, only harder, still say it is the weakest for a long time.
As far as I'm concerned this guy on OTIB has put it right.. ' PeterStyvarsRightFoot After today, every one of us was leaving that away end absolutely kicking ourselves BUT then it dawned on me. We've lost 3 times all season Both away defeats we've had a man sent off We're top at Christmas when we were bottom 12 months ago We may have lost a club stalwart in divvy BUT we're fighting on by supporting Oskar , we as a club have a lot more than just a league table... We have a fan base that is willing to go to the lengths of the world to help somebody out , sure we do each other's nuts in at times but doesn't everyone at one point or another.. We're lucky enough to be born , blooded , bred into this club. We have a passionate team, board , managerial set up. Passionate fans and also a redeveloping ( basically a new ground )! On the way. We've got money to spend , we're 180 minutes from Wembley and all!! On top of all this ... We're the only league team in Bristol and even when we lose we don't lose top spot.. I'm a city fan through and through and nobody will ever take that away from me as nobody will take it from you too... So think of the on going roller coaster we ride each day on nights like this and smile that you don't have to sit there and be bored of a football team... Have a good Christmas everyone ... We're top of the league !!! ' Spot on, up the City..
'Elliott went off after 31 mins- The 3 games we have lost all involved his absence for most of the game-I wonder if there is any co-incidence there?' Might have more to do with only playing with 10 men in 2 of the 3 games. Have to say Williams - what a t**t. He thinks he can play. Worst possible mistake a defender can make.
Two games lost as said players sent of both times, the players need to make sure they stay on the pitch, that has possibly cost six points
Wheels come off? Are you having a laugh? We're top of the table at Christmas having only lost 3 games and all by 1-0. We lost a game today that we totally dominated even with 10 men, these things happen. Talk about making mountains out of molehills. If anyone would have offered us at the start season that at Christmas we would be top and only losing 3 games in the process we would have taken it. Lets all cheer up and enjoy Christmas. Ho Ho Ho!
Not the time to get despondent or panic. I had a sneaky feeling that Donny would do all of us a favour, just look at their away record this season before today w5 d2 lost 3. Listening to (crap again) radio Bristol, I thought after 15 minutes that the banana skin syndrome was going to happen to us and it did. Wade injured(?), missing chances, then Williams getting two yellows. The only consolation is that we lost to the bottom club and not one of our rivals. We are not yet half way through the season, we are still top, have lost only three games, so let's not have a panic attack. It is a long road and we have had a less than convincing last six weeks but we will recover our form and win promotion.
