It's been said that in the lead up to Christmas, nerves can begin to fray, leading to sorts of tragedies. One such event happened today in far North Queensland. Truly horrible stuff. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-12-...-children-dead-after-manoora-stabbing/5979452
It's getting to the stage where I am just going to stop looking at any form of news - be it TV, internet or whatever. Just ****ing horrible depressing stories everywhere you look, makes you wonder what sort of creatures are walking around these days. My mum told me a story from a local newspaper recently - a bloke with 2 kids, wife left him for another man. So he takes the kids up into the attic, ties them to the roof beams. Then he goes back downstairs, douses everything in petrol. Goes back up to the attic, drops a lighted match through the hatch, then shoots himself through the head and his kids burn to death. "Revenge" on the wife RIP those poor kids.
I work in, shall we call it a 'facility' that house the sort of people who commit these crimes and believe me there's a lot that doesn't make the news that is absolutely horrendous
So so sad!! Really what is the world going through and I have recently tried stopping reading the news it is so depressing, either people being murdered or people dieing of cancer! My thoughts go out to their families! Also likewise Smokey major respect to you! Stronger man than I am doing that job!
Smokey massive respect to you and others who do that job I echo all sentiments, the news is truly shocking at the moment. It is never a good time of year to hear stories like this but especially not at Christmas
Unfortunately I can't take all the respect fellas, although I work in that sort of facility I have a job other than keeping the ****ers locked up, even though I do have daily contact with them it's someone else's responsibility to look after them. But it is a thankless job that they do
I think if I had the job of "looking after them" there is a strong possibility that I could incorrectly interpret my instruction
And that is exactly why I chose not to do that particular job when I got offered it. It's a bit too softly softly and too much emphasis on rehabilitation and education and not enough on punishment
At one job I had years ago there was this lass who got married, had a son. A few years later I was driving home listening to the news on the radio and heard that the husband had taken a shotgun to wife and son before turning it on himself
Absolutely shocking and worst of all it is highly unlikely the kids died quickly with a single wound. Completely fathomless.
Cairns deaths: Children's mother arrested for murder I was going to comment on this thread when it was originally posted because this looked like an entirely domestic issue. As the mother has been placed under arrest it would seem that my initial suspicions may have been correct. Would it have made the news outside Australia if it had been three kids? There do seem to be a lot of these types of cases (especially in the USA) but there only seems to be such consternation when the numbers are large. Maybe that is a reflection on society as a whole.
