It's nice to see that Tim Howard has issued a statement, saying that all future copies of his book will have the section about Brad Friedel's opposition to his move to Man Utd removed.
The claim didn't ring true at the time and Friedel's version of events makes much more sense, so it's good to hear that they've sorted it out.
 
Also, 366 days after him leaving the club, AVB speaks out. I have mixed feelings about the piece. While its interesting to hear his tale of broken promises and suchlike, part of me thinks there is greater honour in him keeping schtum and getting on with his professional life. Then again if he's asked the questions in interview and genuinely feels like he has been wronged then perhaps he has the right to put his version of events firmly out into the open.

It's almost as if there was some kind of contractual obligation involved! <laugh>

Interesting point about Benfica coach Jorge Jesus. He'd be leaving it late at 60, but he's done very well with them over the last few years.
His comments on Baldini sound very reminiscent of the Comolli-Jol relationship, don't they? Unfortunate, if true.

1. Only Moutinho was allegedly at the minimum partly a Levy eff-up.

Everyone else did not come was a money issue (infeasible for Oscar, unreasonable for Damiao) .


2. VDV did not 100% go of his own accord (hardly an AVB type player is he) .


The Baldini stuff IMHO is not in doubt.

Anyone remember that Cameroonian player that was killed in Algeria by a projectile thrown from the crowd?
An autopsy has thrown this claim into doubt and it now appears that Albert Ebosse was killed in a struggle, possibly in a dressing room altercation.
That's horrible.
 
The Spurs Community chat site is running a thread accusing Graeme Souness of trying to "fix" the Capital One Cup draw last night.

Apparently it was down to Souness to put the four balls into the bag and then release them. It seems he kept his hand in the bag and had to be told to withdraw his hand. There is a shot of Souness giving Jamie Redkapp a quite aggressive glare when he then paired Liverpool with Chelsea instead of Sheffield United.

The original Sky line up last night was scheduled to be Jamie Redknapp and his Dad, Harry. But Harry was called to Asia to meet with the QPR owner and had to withdraw, so Souness, who is also Sandbanks based, was drafted in.

I do like a good conspiracy. theory.

It's about time they moved on from the current system though, just get one of those lottery machines to do it and have the ex-players read out the numbers and teams as they do now.

Nah, software development. My problem is i used all my holiday entitlement going to Iceland and America (x3), so i can't really complain.
