Good morning Gents, donât really post often but just looking for some answers really, I read a lot of the Liverpool forums and it is coming through the Brendanâs head is for the chop. Do you all believe this? Sorry if there is already a thread on this. I honestly do not think he deserves to be sacked, I think he will turn it around and I cant believe that anyone would like to see him go
The teams that he is putting out and the performances of some of the players are putting pressure on him, without a doubt some of the signings are also doing this. Traditionally we are patient with the manager but I'd like to think that we are not stupid enough to put up with utter crap and that is what Rodgers is serving up at the moment. So yes at this moment he is under pressure, I hope he can turn it around but would also be very tempted if De Boer or Simeone became available for the job.
The summer of transfers have been his failing. Should he be sacked, no, there was a committee that signed off on the transfers, so if Rodgers must go, then so should the committee too.
We haven't been playing well which happens at times, teams just have to get on with it and work their way through it picking up as many points as they can muster in the process. Far from happy with our points return this season but I have no gripe with that as we're just going through a tough period. What does annoy me and makes me question Brod is the decisions he is making. It isn't working yet he persists with the same formation, same tactics and same failing individuals. A couple of recent games he has changed it around, whether this is forced upon him through injuries or not is a matter of opinion I guess but he had the players to continue playing 4231 if he'd wanted. If he continues to switch things around to solve the problems then he'll get more support from me. Lastly, transfers. We've have been ****ing awful. Whether Brod is to blame or not is up for debate with most as they consider the conspiracies of the transfer committee. For me, Brod is to blame for the wasted millions simply because he has the final say. If the TC are blocking moves for players he truly wants then why stand for it? He stood up and said he didn't want a DoF because he wanted control when interviewed so why put up with being **** on now? Why agree to signing players he doesn't want or won't use? If its that bad, why stay and commit career suicide...? I fear it may be too late for Brod now though. A lot of fans seemed to have turned and I'm not convinced the players are 100% behind him either.
Its ok,de boers the flavour of the week now. Simeone was last week and Klopp previous to that. Before him was.......etc........etc.
Klopp is a proven winner.. Plus can you compare results over seperate leagues, how about career stats Rodgers is a poor manager who got lucky having Suarez.....this now shows in his current league form/position
Whatever happens sacking Rodgers mid season is out of the question imo, unless we are flirting with relegation. that's the only reason I would accept him getting the chop. The money has been spent, the club signed off on the spending, no point in slaming the pen door shut after Greez has made off with the pigs.
You guys are right Unless someone fabulous is available and they are not.... I think we should be restructuring now for next summer..... Technical director roles and getting shut of bolloxology of a committee
Technical directors and committee's are just a cop out for when a manager fails. it is less high profile to pump a technical committee member than a manager and covers up for his failings
Rodgers is being vilified if you ask me by Liverpool fans generally, ones I know and speak to, ones on other forums and social media and quite a few of you on here, and it's a total disgrace. I'll back him. I'll back him 100%. This season is proving to be incredibly difficult but there are a number of issues that factor into that not just Rodgers. If you look at the world rankings for coaches Rodgers is no. 26 currently. Here are the managers above him from no. 25 up: R. Schmidt | V. Montella | G. Matosas | J. Cardozo | Ernesto Valverde | Sun-Hong Hwang | A. Conte | D. Hecking | R. Garcia | Rafa Benitez | Yong-Soo Choi | Kang-Hee Choi | G . Martino | Marcelo Oliveira | J. Klopp | Luis Enrique | M. Pellegrini | A. Wenger | L. Blanc | Unai Emery | Jose Mourinho | Jorge Jesus | D. Simeone | Guardiola | C. Ancelotti In bold you have two of the names being bandied around as replacements for Rodgers and the only three PL managers ahead of him. Klopp is having an even worse season with Dortmund, what makes you think he could come to Liverpool and suddenly be brilliant again having to get to grips with a completely different team and working environment, also his ranking is on the slide whereas Rodgers is holding position. The other option there, Rafa, is probably better than Klopp now imo, but do we really want him back at Anfield, how is that progress?? Out of the rest of the managers ahead of him, those who would come to LFC I mean, are any of them doing a better job at a better club?? Jorge Jesus looks an interesting prospect to me if we were to change either now or in the summer, has a high ranking, consistency and his team are flying in the Primeira Liga. But I'm backing Rodgers. He'll sort us out.
I am sure the managerial greats never had to have technical directors or committees, would Shakly, Fergie, Busby etc need or stand for these posts? They would accept the blame for performances and sort it out....not like Jose and complain about the cheap eggs from Lidl or Like Rodgers say that spending £100m should mean a title challenge.
