WPL League Position

I actually think I got every score wrong....
Is a single figure score possible?

 

Apart from getting points just for taking part the lowest anyone can score (apart form your unique result) is +3 for predicting a home win but by the wrong score

 

Congratulations to Zen who consolidates his position at the top by scoring points in 8 of his 10 predictions and being the only person to correctly predict a Watford defeat (boo).

As often in weeks where we lose this was a low scoring week - in fact the third lowest of the 14 so far. Good scores for Chris 13 and Hornethologist who both move up a few places but one or two will not want to be mentioned in despatches.

Another week that was not very highscoring - due no doubt to the fact that none of us had sufficient confidence in our lads to back a 5 goal victory margin although half of us (but not all ) did predict a win.

Three managed to find an all important unique score in the games at Cardiff, Huddersfield and Wigan.

Best scores came at the top and bottom ends of the table with Ghost now threatening a breakaway along with ZenGuerilla from the chasing pack. Aberdeen, roused from his slumber, is now poised to head for mid table.

OFH could be threatening a second half of the season storm up the table with an impressive 95 this week

It seems that modding and predicting are no longer compatible and Hornette has joined Ex-mod Dan and new mod Dan in hibernating.

Thanks Leo, that was a lot better than I expected. Will not expect any great surge, mid-table is my normal position.

 

A new leader this week with congratulations to Ghost taking over at top spot. He together with Bloother and Bragantino were the three this week who each scored a unique correct prediction. Bloother was the top scorer overall as he also got the Watford score correct - as did 4 others. Other good predictions this week from Oxford, Gordon and SalisburyKev.

That is possible in theory - just - but my bet would be Matej will be closer to that figure than you

 

I'm not one to criticise, Leo - especially as I thought you might be so kind as to grant some sort of several hundred points bursary for reasons yet to be decided upon...

 

I am always know as a generous man. If you get 10 totally correct scores on Saturday you can have a 5,000 point bonus. (but if Matej gets the ten he gets a 10,000 point bonus under my handicapping system )

Unquestionably. Which is why, in the 'takes one to know one' way of thinking, I thought I might be sort of due, say 300ish pts for being lovely myself. Don't answer straight away, Leo, think it over... I'm sure you'll make a wise decision.

 

Ah but you see - lovely people are kind to others which is why I always put in these rubbish predictions to give others a chance - I have noticed you do the same as a fellow "lovely".

Well the battle at the top continues with Zen regaining top spot from Ghost but there is only one result this week that stands out. Step forward New Zealand - three correct scores and three other correct results contributed - but more importantly he found the golden scenario of being the one and only predictor to get the Watford score right. That almost never happens when we win but the bonus for the "unique" score and the Watford doubling plus the additional for being best of the week catapults him into the top 5.

It shows that everything is there to play for - a good week can lift you 12 places as it did NZ - congratulations to him. (Ironically a couple of weeks ago when my PC was dying I posted a few weeks predictions in the future predictions thread - guess what for Watford I gave a 1-0 win, why oh why did I change that when I did my predictions this week )
